About Johnny Lowebows performances:
The average listener probably thinks Johnny Lowebows music sucks.  Hes been shunned by the Memphis blues community.  He described his appearance at the King Biscuit Blues Fest as an invasion.  I even came across a blog that proclaimed him The Worst Performer In The World .   Lately, hes been making his rounds in Memphis punk clubs.
Like I said, you either get him or you dont.

To me, Johnny Lowebows performances transcend concerts and gravitate toward SPECTACULAR ACTS!  You see, he plays this homemade cigar box guitar that really shouldnt workbut it does!  The Lowebow cigar box guitar is plugged into TWO SEPARATE SCREAMING AMPS.  Johnny doesnt look at his hands when he plays.  He goes by feeling (or the Force) and thus, correct intonation and tuning fall outside the typical Western 12 tone octave.  Its loud, its out of tune and its brutal.

Nomake that: BRUUUUUUUUTAL!

He drives a huge set of drums and cymbals with a series of footpedals.  Did I mention that he plays them barefoot.  Tempo?  Whats a tempo?  Johnny dont need no stinkin tempos.  He plays by feeling.  The feeling of a true madman set loose on an unsuspecting public.
And when Johnnys playing, he never really STOPS at the end of a song.  The tunes just flow together in a free form stream of consciousness.  The audience never knows when to applaud, clap or run.  Youre trapped.
I really love Johnny Lowebow and want the world to love him, too.  Check out his gig schedule (see link in yellow box above)  and go see him.  Buy a cd or two when youre there.  And when youre ready to feel the force, buy a Lowebow.
It will change your life.
