Ben Franklin - Princeton
Adopted!
Senior Beagle male, classic tricolor.
About 9 years old, allready neutered.
Housetrained and very well behaved.
(Just a bit food agressive with other dogs)
Old Ben maybe a bit chunky so there's more of him to love!
He was originaly brought to a rural shelter as a stray.
Franklin missed somebody but no ever showed up to claim him.
He was getting so sad, lonely and depressed.
This old boy was running out of time.
Humane Society of Cedar Creek Lake
contacted LSBR and luckily we had a space to take him on.
Old Ben Franklin was covered in fleas, had hot spots, a bad ear infectin and kennel cough.
His foster mom nursed him through all this and he cleaned up real good.
This loving gentleman would love to sleep at the foot of your bed
and be a comforting and constant companion. Would do best as an only dog.
Seniors are wonderful dogs that are usually no trouble at all.
* * * UPDATE: Ben Franklin tested heavy heartworm positive.
Thanks to generous donations, the "Frankster" will be treated.
He sould be ready for his forever home by the end of September.
More donations would be very appreciated.
* * * UPDATE: Ben has completed heartworm treatment.
He is a new beagle now. Very Happy, gets along with other dogs.
New photos of the "Frankster" will be posted soon.

Male "Bagle", or Beagle/Basset cross.
Tricolor markings, listed as "young" - about a year old.

Hilton is a sweet, patient Hound dog
that has been waiting a long time for a good home to call his own.

4 the Hounds Basset Rescue
took this boy and gave him a name.
He uses a doggie door and gets along well with other dogs.
Hilton is just a big sweet loving boy that think's hes all puppy.
So if you've been looking around for a good family hound
and can't decide on a beagle or basset, why not adopt Hilton?
You would have the best of both.
* * * UPDATE: Hilton has been released to
Kristina's Kritters
of Mountain Grove, Missouri where he is currently in a
temporary foster care situation.
He was originally slated for transfer to New Mexico but was put on hold due to a tragedy.
We would like to keep the Missouri lifeline going
and find Hilton a good home through LSBR here in Texas.
Even a foster-to-adopt situation would work.
Transport details can be worked out for the right home.

Housetrained. Good looks and personality plus.
"Hi folks, Need a perky energetic boy to fill your heart and home
with excitement and puppy dog kisses? Look no further, I'm the boy for you.
I love to play and chase tennis balls, rabbits, squirrels or anything that moves.
Right now I live with some kind people that feed me,
and they saved me from death row in a country shelter.
But they have a toddler that cant keep up with a hound dog like me.
Now I have to stay in the yard and it makes me feel sad,
lonely, hot, miserable and kinda scared sometimes.
Won't you let me cuddle up with you and watch some TV? "

Rusty has had some problems in the past with someone who mishandled him.
So is under evaluation and professional training to correct this.
"I'm most perky, eager to please, very
attentive, super lovable, and love to cuddle up close at night...
someone treated me very mean and rough...
I'm living with gentle people now that truly love me.
They understand and never hurt me.
They now correct me easily, without ever hitting, or by jerking my neck or colar.
I'm responding very well to all this love and understanding."
He is fearfull of crates and needs a bit more work with a leash.
Rusty is originally from Missouri.
4 the Hounds Rescue
rescued him from a bad situation and shipped him to our sister rescue org,
New Mexico Beagle Rescue
for Christmas and stayed until his devoted foster mom passed away.
So with the help of several volunteers in two states,
Rusty was transferred to LSBR of West Texas where he has settled fairly well.
This boy is going to need a comitted family preferably all adult or with older kids
that has experience training and working with beagles.
He would also be an excellent candidate for agility.
