Her owner is a rescue angel from another state and has passed away while under the care of her daughter here in Texas. It has been a sad trying time for all involved. We want to carry on her mothers promise that Selena would allways be loved. She is a small, chubby gal, well behaved and so cuddly and lovable. Never any trouble at all. Billy Bob - Plano click for larger image click for larger image
Needs a foster home!
Tricolor male Beagle, about six years old. Neutered and fully vacinated. Housetrained. Will be tested for heartworm and on prevention prior to adoption. Billy Bob, or "Bo-Bo is very well behaved and has excellent house manners. He even knows basic obedience commands. Bo-bo gets along very well with other dogs and is great with kids. Probably Cats too. Like most beagles, Bo-bo is a bit obsessive of food. He is a bit skittish of crates and doesn't do well in Kennels. But that shouldn't matter since he is so well behaved in the house. Billy Bob was a personal pet of the late founder from our sister rescue org, New Mexico Beagle Rescue He was very special to his human and so is special to LSBR as well. We are going to be very particular about his adoptive home as if he was one of our beloved personal beagles. He needs a special family to call his own. For more information see Billy Bob's Autobiography on Petfinder

Mr Twix - Plano Click for larger image Click for larger image
Needs a foster home!
Mr Twix is a purebred male beagle. Classic tricolor, we think about 8 or 9 years old. He is neutered and fully vacinated. Mr. Twix scheduled to be tested for heartworm and put on a prevention program. This gentleman is housebroken and well behaved for the most part. He has an obsession with socks and is possesive of his food and treats. For the most part Mr Twix is real sweet and lovable and just a nice little hound. His owner of six years could no longer keep him due to lifestyle changes. They put up for adoption through a public listing which turned into a disaster. LSBR got involved and a volunteer somehow managed to get Mr Twix out of that situation and into beagle rescue where he belongs. Mr Twix would do best in an all adult home with a fenced yard. No apartments as he does have a beagle voice that carries. Other dogs are okay and probably cats too. If you are interested in adoption or fostering for rescue (with option to adopt) please contact us For more information see Mr Twix Autobiography on Petfinder

Annie & Abbie - Richardson / Grand Prairie Annie Abbie Annie Abbie Annie Abbie

Chocolate Chip
Sisters!

Abbie still needs a foster home!
Bonded pair of Purebred Beagle females. Chocolate tricolor variety about four years old. Spayed, up to date on all shots and heartworm negative. Annie and Abbie, the glorious Chocolate red-tick Sister Beagles. Covered in chocolate chip freckles! We have never seen such beauties. These girls came from our sister rescue org, New Mexico Beagle Rescue They can be adopted seperately. However if placed together come with a special "two for one" reduced adoption fee. Annie and Abbie were raised with children but were not socialized outside the home very much. We think they would do okay with well behaved kids 10+ years. They may be shy at first, Abbie more so than Annie. Once settled in they do just fine though might still be anxious of new changes. Annie and Abbie will need patience at first but one will be greatly rewarded with their love and chocolate kisses. Housetrained with a doggie door. Both of them love to play with the other dogs. These lovely ladies are of the smaller 15" variety. Annie is a slim 20lbs., while Abbie is a little bigger at 35+ lbs. A perfectly matched pair with fabulous golden eyes and winning personalities. Annie and Abbie are looking for a forever home with lots of love and attention to give. Transport within reasonable distance will be considered for the right home. *UPDATE: These girls foster home could no longer care for them due to family emergency. Annie has a foster home in Richardson but her sister Abbie currently in Grand Prairie is still in need of placement. If you are interested in adoption or fostering for rescue (with option to adopt) please contact us

Ralphie - Plano Click for larger image Click for larger image Click for larger image
Very Special Beagle!
Ralphie is a purebred male beagle. "Chocolate" tricolor, about ten years old. He is neutered and up to date on all shots. Housebroken, well behaved, everything. However Ralphie has some lumps and bumps over his body and a large tumor in his mouth. It is a malignant cancer all throughout his system. Lymph nodes, everything. He has been given weeks to live. We can do nothing for Ralphie. Except to make the rest of his life comfortable and love him to the last. Right now he has been given predisone to ease discomfort. Ralphie is doing "okay" sniffing around and getting into things like any other beagle. He is being fed and given soft cushions to lay on and a nice yard to run in. Ralphie came from Collin County Animal Services We have no regrets for pulling the poor old boy. He was going to die unwanted and alone in a shelter. Thanks to some friends in the rescue network who helped get him out, our Ralphie has a life left to live if only for another week or month at the most. Beagle blessings to all who have taken the time to read this story. More photos and updates will be posted soon. If you would like to donate towards Ralphie's or any convalescent old beagle's veterinary expenses please contact us or call Dolores (972) 964-8794
* * * UPDATE: Ralphie has crossed the Bridge. Trish was there to greet him. Please read our tribute They call me Ralphie

Butters - Lewisville Click for larger image Click for larger image Click for larger image
Discontinued: We are unable to contact the caretaker.
Beagle male about 5 years old. Neutered, fully vacinated and house trained. Heartworm negative and on prevention. Butters is a purebred beagle of the "Lemon" variety (tan & white) with an "open coat". (like snoopy) Very unique but all beagle. This fellow gets along great with other animals and loves children. "You would not believe how wonderful he is around them" A rescue angel is fostering Butters until we find his forever home. Could that be your family?

Rocky - Richardson Click for larger image Click for larger image
Discontinued: We are unable to contact the caretaker.
Tricolor Beagle male, about 6 years old. Neutered, fully vacinated, heartworm negative and on preventative. Housebroken, well behaved and crate trained. Rocky is a hefty, healthy boy. Very sweet, if a bit spoiled cause he loves his treats. He is happy just to sit at your feet while you watch TV. Also loves to go on walks and chase a ball. Like most beagles this one is a bit protective of food, toys and people. Used to being inside at night but does well out in the yard all day. Rocky would do best in a home with lots of activity and a fenced in yard. He is not used to kids as they seem to make him nervous. Older kids might work out just fine. Rocky has never been any trouble and has stayed with one person most of his life. His original owner passed away due to terminal illness and some good friends have been fostering him until we can find him another home. Since Rocky was very attached to his owner, he needs the the right person to earn his trust. Then you will have one loyal, big happy boy to love you forever.

Tricolor male Beagle/Border Collie cross only one year old. Neutered, up to date on all shots and heartworm negative. Crate and Housetrained. "Domino has some obedience training but will need to continue with the training. Domino is also currently taking classes in flyball. Flyball is very popular sport for fast, active dogs." This boy also plays with toys and can fetch or play frisbee. Domino will do best in a home where he can get lots of exercise for the border Collie in him. He also has the beagle bay so can entertain with his lively "arooos!" If you're looking for dog with the best of traits of a border collie and a beagle, Domino may be the dog for you. Biscuit - DFW Click for larger image
Discontinued: We are unable to contact the caretaker.
Tricolor female, about 8 years old. Beagle/basset cross, or "Bagle". Spayed, current on vacinations and cratetrained. Heartworm negative and on prevention. Biscuit is submissive, very gentle and patient with kids. "She spends most of her time lying around the house and likes to be with or near people. She curls up at the foot of the bed or on the couch." Biscuit does need a refresher course in housetraining as she has been living in an upstairs apartment without a yard for over a year. Otherwise very well behaved and a great all-around family hound. Biscuit's current owner is away alot. She is lonely and howls (like most Bassets or Beagles) if left alone all day. Biscuit needs a family with someone around most of the time. Plus a yard with a doggie door and a good fence. We are helping to find her the right home.

Penny - Bedford Click for larger image
Beagle female, four years old. Dark tricolor markings with beautifull blue freckles all over. Spayed and fully vacinated. Housebroken. Penny is very friendly beagle. Good with older children and dogs. Not so good around cats. Also a bit possesive of food and treats. This girl because she is a beagle, does bark sometimes but not excessively. She sure is pretty though and deserves a forever home. Penny is under the care of Homeward Bound Animal Rescue and is being fostered in the DFW area. If you are interested in adoption please email Barbara [email protected] phone message (817) 792-5122 or check out her Petfinder Information

Maverick - Corsicana click for larger image click for larger image
Purebred beagle male senior. Classic Tricolor faded and grey. Neutered, fully vacinated and heartworm negative. Housebroken, well behaved and does well on a leash. Maverick is twelve years old and lots of love left to give. This gent is in very good health except for just a touch of arthritis which he takes meds for. They say he loves to go riding in cars. Maverick is very sweet, loyal and deserving of a great home that apreciates such a treasure. He has had a good life. Then his elderly owner had to move in with her kids. Maverick was not welcome. His owner felt like her only option was to have him euthanized. "Fortunately for Maverick, the girls at the vet clinic where he was often boarded loved him too much for that!" He is now in a wonderfull foster home situation under the program of Humane Society of Navarro County If you are interested please call his foster mom, Dawn (903) 326-5439 or email [email protected]

Duke - Dallas click for larger image click for larger image click for larger image
I need a foster home!
"Redtick" English Coonhound male. About eight or nine years old. Neutered and fully vacinated. Housebroken. Gets along great with other dogs and okay with cats. Doesnt like to be left alone. Loves people, never met a stranger. Likes to sleep on big pillows and be next to his humans. Because Duke is a coonhound he needs a 6' fence. Though he enjoys outdoor activities we must stress Duke is kept primarily as a companion and indoor family pet, not as a hunter. This handsome fellow was originally in a kill shelter with hours to live. He was rescued by our hound loving friends of Companion Animal Network Currently being fostered in DFW area. However this is a very temporary situation. Duke needs a comitted foster home environment. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Duke please email [email protected] or go to Petfinder

If you are in love with Duke but for some reason are not able to bring such a fine hound into your life, you can sponsor him. Just go to the main website and make a donation through pay pal. It just takes one click and means so much. "Wooooo-wooooo Thank you!" Duke

Old Man Lucky - Weatherford Click for larger image
Senior Beagle Gentleman. Fourteen years old. Originally from Keller Animal Shelter He was in sad shape. A heart murmur, case of whipworm and bad dental problems. But he was too sweet to let go. Several individuals donated towards his original vetting and worked frantically to find rescue. The shelter worked with us on hanging on "just a few more days" until rescue arrived. This Lucky old man is now under the care of "Kingdom Animal Treasures" where he will live out the rest of his life in comfort. He will probably never be adopted out due to medical problems. If interested in donating towards Lucky's vet expenses please contact us or call Cindy (817) 613-8484

Ben Franklin - Princeton Click for larger image Click for larger image
Adopted!
Senior Beagle male, classic tricolor. About 9 years old, allready neutered. Housetrained and very well behaved. (Just a bit food agressive with other dogs) Old Ben maybe a bit chunky so there's more of him to love! He was originaly brought to a rural shelter as a stray. Franklin missed somebody but no ever showed up to claim him. He was getting so sad, lonely and depressed. This old boy was running out of time. Humane Society of Cedar Creek Lake contacted LSBR and luckily we had a space to take him on. Old Ben Franklin was covered in fleas, had hot spots, a bad ear infectin and kennel cough. His foster mom nursed him through all this and he cleaned up real good. This loving gentleman would love to sleep at the foot of your bed and be a comforting and constant companion. Would do best as an only dog. Seniors are wonderful dogs that are usually no trouble at all.
* * * UPDATE: Ben Franklin tested heavy heartworm positive. Thanks to generous donations, the "Frankster" will be treated. He sould be ready for his forever home by the end of September. More donations would be very appreciated.
* * * UPDATE: Ben has completed heartworm treatment. He is a new beagle now. Very Happy, gets along with other dogs. New photos of the "Frankster" will be posted soon.

Hilton - Mountain Grove, Missouri click for larger image click for larger image click for larger image
Adopted!
* * * Transport is available!
Male "Bagle", or Beagle/Basset cross. Tricolor markings, listed as "young" - about a year old. Neutered, and up to date on all vacinations. Heartworm negative and on prevention. Housebroken. Hilton is a sweet, patient Hound dog that has been waiting a long time for a good home to call his own. Poor fellow was abandoned in a motel by his original owners. 4 the Hounds Basset Rescue took this boy and gave him a name. He uses a doggie door and gets along well with other dogs. Hilton is just a big sweet loving boy that think's hes all puppy. So if you've been looking around for a good family hound and can't decide on a beagle or basset, why not adopt Hilton? You would have the best of both.
* * * UPDATE: Hilton has been released to Kristina's Kritters of Mountain Grove, Missouri where he is currently in a temporary foster care situation. He was originally slated for transfer to New Mexico but was put on hold due to a tragedy. We would like to keep the Missouri lifeline going and find Hilton a good home through LSBR here in Texas. Even a foster-to-adopt situation would work. Transport details can be worked out for the right home. More information about Hilton will soon be available on Petfinder If you are interested in fostering or adoption please contact us You may also contact the rescue in Missouri email [email protected]

Noble - Prosper Click for larger image
Adopted!
Tricolor Beagle male about a year old. Neutered, up to date on all shots and heartworm negative. Housetrained. Good looks and personality plus. "Hi folks, Need a perky energetic boy to fill your heart and home with excitement and puppy dog kisses? Look no further, I'm the boy for you. I love to play and chase tennis balls, rabbits, squirrels or anything that moves. Right now I live with some kind people that feed me, and they saved me from death row in a country shelter. But they have a toddler that cant keep up with a hound dog like me. Now I have to stay in the yard and it makes me feel sad, lonely, hot, miserable and kinda scared sometimes. Won't you let me cuddle up with you and watch some TV? " Currently located in Prosper. If you are interested in adopting Noble please contact us

Rusty - Plano click for larger image click for larger image
Purebred male Beagle, only one year old.
Adopted! Tricolor "Chocolate" variety (brown/tan/white) Neutered and fully vacinated. Housetrained. Will be tested for heartworm and on prevention prior to adoption. Rusty is an adorable fellow with a strong personality. He gets along great and plays with larger dogs. This fellow can be affectionate and cuddly, very loyal! He will curl up with you under the covers at night. Rusty has had some problems in the past with someone who mishandled him. So is under evaluation and professional training to correct this. "I'm most perky, eager to please, very attentive, super lovable, and love to cuddle up close at night... someone treated me very mean and rough... I'm living with gentle people now that truly love me. They understand and never hurt me. They now correct me easily, without ever hitting, or by jerking my neck or colar. I'm responding very well to all this love and understanding." He is fearfull of crates and needs a bit more work with a leash. Rusty is originally from Missouri. 4 the Hounds Rescue rescued him from a bad situation and shipped him to our sister rescue org, New Mexico Beagle Rescue for Christmas and stayed until his devoted foster mom passed away. So with the help of several volunteers in two states, Rusty was transferred to LSBR of West Texas where he has settled fairly well. This boy is going to need a comitted family preferably all adult or with older kids that has experience training and working with beagles. He would also be an excellent candidate for agility. Transport within reasonable distance will be considered for the right home. For more information see Rusty's Autobiography on Petfinder
