SRR Ra`KalenChapter Fifty: After the Mission: tr`Ghire
[Kalen]

Ghire was pissed. His hole body hurt- every damn muscle. Tr`Kuro had worked him hard on the mission- worked him as no junior officer should his superior officer. The Commander laid back in his bunk in thought, a big frown cut across his face.

If it had been anyone else, aside form any other person well over six tall, Ghire would have killed him for his insolence in the field. At least the mission was successful though. If it had failed on top of being so rough on his aging bones he would have killed Kuro, no matter how oversized he was.

He had stopped into the medlab earlier in the morning- his ankle had been bothering him especially- but the CMO was busy doing who knows what to the CO and the AMO was tending to the new naval officer. Irritated that he wasn't on his ship and they were headed into a situation he wasn't briefed on, Ghire left the lab and went back to his quarters. He had been steaming here for an hour, still no word from the sub commander about the mission but he wasn't going to complain directly. With nothing else better to do, Ghire gets out of his bunk and heads for the Oria.

The Gentile Hum of the engines pulses consistently through the background. Ghire sits towards the rear of the Oria and takes in the scene before him. The room is drenched in clashing red and blue light. The consoles that ring the chamber glow a mix of color, primarily yellow and green. Officers move about doing there tasks- all under the eyes of the CO from his perch on the command throne. Ghire winces as he thinks back to his ship. He wonders how she is faring at port and wishes he could be on her Oria seeing things from Raith's perspective. An officer enters the bridge and approached the station Ghire is sitting at. The Commander looks over and recognizes the officer from the medlab. They were unacquainted but Ghire recognized the Marine's nervous stance- he could tell the man didn't want to ask him to vacate his post.

Standing Ghire smiles at the officer and says" No problem Eredh... Its your post not mine." The communications officer nods and smiles faintly. Ghire walks to the aft of the turbo lift and enters it, tired and board with his observations on the bridge. he again returns to his quarters, drops on his bunk, and falls fast asleep.
