SRR Ra`KalenChapter Twenty-Five: Intel Meeting on the Ori
[ch`Revellion]

Raith entered the Rei`Krannsu offices and was ushered into a room in the subbasement. The room was like most conference rooms: darkly light, a long rectangular table in the center of the room, and a heavy atmosphere. Recognizing most of the gathered staff, Raith moves to stand next to Riov t`Brook by the wall.

Ervtr`Raith> (w) Jolan tru rekkhai, any idea what this is about?
Rvt`Brook> ::shakes her head:: (w) Na ...and don't call me that
Ervtr`Raith> ::nods:: Ie. I don't see Malus here. Is he out on a mission?
Rvt`Brook> ::eye brow raises:: Au were na told? The Ra`Khore was sent out on the mission to inject a team into the RES Rivek... here ::hands Raith an ISD:: it's the team roster.
Ervtr`Raith> ::frowns reading it:: Why was I not informed about this? Several in my platoon are part of this operation ::hands the ISD back to Brook::
Rvt`Brook> ::shrugs:: I don't know... and I don't like this. Ronga has been sending orders to crew without informing their COs recently. ::watches a new group enter the room:: Look its another Enriov... I wonder what's up
Ervtr`Raith> ::nods:: Ie. As do I.

Enriov tr`Loose, an ally from the Rei`Krannsu, sits down at the end of the table opposite Enriov tr`Ronga. Two of his aids move to flanking positions while a third stands ready, off to his left shoulder. Ronga stands and slides an ISD down the table. Seeing the meeting is begining the gathered command staff takes their marked seats around the table.

Nrvtr`Ronga> ::stands:: ke`Rhin and ke`Rev, I believe it is time for us to expand. We have grown much in the past few months. ::gestures around the table:: our fleet has gone from ten small ships to a proud fifty, we now have a full two legions of troops, and the academy is producing new regiments by the week. But... But ::shakes his finger:: I feel we have come to the zenith this location and strategy can offer us. Look around you, do you honestly think this small group could stand a chance against the combined force of the Galae, Tal`Shiar, and Loyalist Rei`Krannsu? With our current strategy as soon as we become large enough to be noticed, which will still be too small to be threatening, the empire will send its fleets and we will be crushed- out numbered nearly 200 times!
Nrvtr`Loose> ::looks up:: what then do you propose we do then?
Nrvtr`Ronga> We expand now. We gain support from those who would share in our goals. Even now, many other forces are mobilizing like us around the empire. They too are waiting, waiting for a sign that they are not alone- that they can win a conflict.
Nrvtr`Loose> ::nods shaking the ISD gently between his forefingers:: Ie. I see tr`Kirk's forces are gathering. He leads a sizable Galae contingent but severely lacks support in the Tal`Shiar and Rei`Krannsu.
Nrvtr`Ronga> There is another large group that we may benefit form allying with... ::turns to the aide on his right:: Enarrain?

Enarrain tr`Shin`jikai, a slight and lanky man, was Ronga's chief Tal`Shiar administrative officer. He was widely feared by the few who knew him and loved it. He nods quietly, organizing his thoughts, and begins his briefing,

Natr`Shin> Ie. Intelligence reports that general Tomalak and his supporters in the Argada empire are holding diplomatic relations with a new race. I have very few contacts in that sector so my information is sketchy at best, but it would appear that an advanced race known as the Ori is interested in acquiring Argada as a protectorate. ::taps in a few commands on the desk before him and a three dimensional green wire frame image is projected a meter above the table top:: This is all the technical data I have on their craft and physiology ::brings up another wire frame:: We know that they are transwarp capable, as their empire would appear quite some distance away... though again this is based on conjecture over navigational calculations and some readings on their craft. Additionally they would also appear to have cloaking technology- far more advanced to that of the RSE, KDF, SSS, and SF. As our cloaking systems are considerably different that those used by all other forces in the quadrants we may have a slight advantage, but I would not count on it.
Ervtr`Raith> ::raises hand::
Natr`Shin> Ie?
Ervtr`Raith>Do our scanning systems have any chance at detecting them?
Natr`Shin> This is unknown. The only thing I do know is Argada perimeter defense didn't detect the initial Ori incursion. Nor did the Galae patrols around Argada. ::strokes chin:: Your ship may be able to- as would all the Kalen class ships. The Kalen has as much sensor equipment as a Galaxy class star ship and, more to the point, all that equipment is specifically designed for detection, tracking, and the various combat systems. If you are unable to track the Ori directly, your systems should at least warn you that something is near by- though I would still be wary.
Rvt`Brook> On that topic, what do we know about their weapon systems?
Natr`Shin> Very little I'm afraid. Argada scans showed the Ori ship's shields to be set to Omega frequencies... this would suggest that their weapons were capable of the same. This would pose fare less a serious threat to our craft than to the ships of the RSE- with our resent advancements into transwarp technology our ships can actually maintain a reliable energy level sufficient to use Omega spectrum disrupters and shields. That is about all I can really say at the moment.
Nrvtr`Ronga> ::waits for the officers to finish up:: This is why I brought you all here. ::turns to Raith:: As you are by now aware of, Several officers from your crew have been reassigned to the RES Rivek, tr`Kirk's command ship stationed in the Tomika system near SB220. I don't trust Kirk ::watches the crowd nod agreement:: and I want quick access to him and his forces if things start turning ugly. As for you and your crew, and the crews of the Ael`Khellian, Ra`Khore, and Ra`Sesketh-Lagasu- you are all to be assigned to seek out and confront the other gathering dissident factions. At the very least we need their neutrality in this conflict and certainly could use their support. ::to Brook and Malus:: you two are assigned to seek out the rebels in the Tamara highlands - I don't care how you do it just get them to stop shooting at each other and unified against t`Kazon
Ervtr`Malus> ::nods:: Ie... But as with Sub-Commander Raith I am in need of replacement crew.
Nrvtr`Ronga> You will receive replacements from the newly trained ch`Revellion regiments. ::turns to Raith:: As erie`Riov Den t`Kethry is the most familiar, and certainly holds the best relations with General Tomalak, she is the best candidate to bring him into our camp.
Ervtr`Raith> ::suddenly noticing Den isn't at the meeting:: Why wasn't the erie`Riov informed of this meeting?
Nrvtr`Rong> ::eyes narrow and a frown crosses his face:: She still holds loyalty to t`Kazon- though resent events have shifted that some what. You, of all my tacticians, should know how messy a situation she could cause if she truly knew how far we intend to go against the Empress... I want the Kalen to accompany her to Argada. Your job is to make sure she gets Tomalak on our side, identify the intents and potential threat level of the Ori, and ::grins:: acquire any tech. that you can.
Ervtr`Raith> ::grins back:: Ie

The meeting goes on for another hour. Personnel are slated for new posts, ships are scheduled for upgrades and over hauls, and commanders discuss tactics. Satisfied with the meeting's progress, tr`Ronga dismisses the commanders.

Eager for a mission, Raith quickly exits the building and returns to the Kalen. He meets Kuro on the way recieves the TAC officer's report. Aparently Kuro's mission was a sucess.

On the Oira, Raith greets his new helmsman and chief of security. The three get aquatinted fairly quickly and Raith sends them to the med-lab << to join the new asst.MO >>. The crew is recalled to the ship and preparations are made to depart the atmosphere.
