[SNR Ts`Irk: Mess hall, a short time after Raith's briefing...]
"You know ever since we got here, its been nothing but lecture upon
lecture from our distinguished and off balanced professor." Elq takes a drink and looks up at Kuro. "At first it was fine--of course everything was fine in the beginning--but he was telling us something about some kind of pulse mechanics--he got started on it when I unpacked my THUDD--and from there one thing led to another and he got onto god knows what. I can appreciate advanced sciences as much as anyone--more than many in fact---but not without end."
Finally relieved of some of his frustrations of the last hour or
two, Elq downs the rest of his drink. For all his talk he actually liked the quirky little "professor", but the new arrangements after leaving the ship he had called home for so long were a little taxing. At least now they no longer wore those gray RSE uniforms. With the black uniforms of the NRR, they would no longer even vaguely be assumed to serve the Empress.
tr'Kuro> these arrangements are not permanent. ::sips his drink:: but I
can't guarantee that things wont be vastly different later
They sat in the mess hall for a while, stirring over their drinks.
Elq thinking about the new arrangements and where they'd be in a few days. Kuro recalling his memories of tr'Caine and wondering how he fits into things now.
They're thoughts were cut short however, with the abrupt arrival of
another table.
Kuro peers over the edge of the glass he is drinking from and makes
a poor attempt to rationalize what he was seeing. After another moment,
he hears a table shatter in his former position as he lies on the floor.
Just as he is hopping up from where he dived to avoid whatever it was
being thrown at him, he caught motion out of his peripheral vision that
he soon verified as a kick to his abdomen. As his body responded to the
assault by throwing various blocks and jabs, he finally had time to make out the furious expression on t'Ren's face as she made her formal
complaint to him, with force. He could not, however, understand why she
was trying to kill him, nor could he think properly since a 5'-4" ball
of fire was trying to tear chunks out of him. Finally she gave him an
opening. He grabbed her arm and chucked her over the bar.
tr'Kuro> ::catching his breath:: Care to explain this to me?
t`Ren> ::leaping over the ruined bar top:: Au gone to far!
tr'Kuro> ::ducks chair:: Rekkhai?
t'Ren> ::slowed down by a fleeing Marine:: (snarls) Au broke Two of his ribs! ::tears another 'secured' table off the floor and hurls it toward the baffled Revellion::
tr'Kuro> Kandeen? ::steps aside from the projectiled table casually::
t'Ren> ::roars, launching a flurry of rotating blows:: Con... -huf-
...sider! -huff- This! -Huf- Executive! -Huf- punishment!!! ::jumps up,
slamming a reverse arching kick into Kuro's head::
tr'Kuro> ::after blocking many jabs and quick punches, shrugs off the
kick, not sure what to do... should he hit the Major? Elements! how does such a little woman hit so hard::
Ren stands about 3 meters from the Arrain, her chest heaving to
replenish oxygen. She straightens up, shifts her jacket back into
place, and strides out of the room. Kuro takes a prolonged look after
her, then brushes off his new uniform, walking back over to his table
and looking around for his glass. As he finally locates the broken
glass, he shrugs and wonders if he will still get into trouble for the
mess, even though he didn't counterstrike his superior. He grumbles and
orders himself another drink...
