SRR Morrahe`VnuChapter Ninety-Eight: Men Overboard
[The Wildstrike...]

After sending his sixth patient off down the tunnels, D`Tarik sighs a little and asks, "Rylan, can I go check on Emni yet..." he goes to lean on the viewport window of the bar, and discovers too late that it's no longer there as he suddenly sinks through backwards. There's a loud thud, followed closely by a "AHHHHHHH!!!!"

Rylan - who had looked over with a rather guilty expression when D`Tarik first addressed him - starred in shock at the doctor's unexpected disappearing act, then ran towards the window calling out loudly, "DT?!!" he reached the window frame just in time to see D`Tarik's form sliding over the ship's hull to disappear a second later over it's edge, "DT!! Where the Areinnye au off to?!"

After landing on the ground with a painful thud and a loud, "OW!!" D`Tarik stands up and dusts himself off. "Oh, I don't know Rylan!" he yells up angrily, "I just *really* wanted a breath of fresh air!!" he pauses a moment, then adds "By the way, that was sarcasm!!"

Grumbling, "Ah, for Elements'..!!" Rylan climbs up on the slight edge of the viewport sill, and turns back at Katara's calling out his name, to see the girl hurrying towards him to prevent him from going outside. "Find the Leih and tell him he's got men overboard!" he tells her, trying to ungrasp her frantic hands from his legs, then jumping down the short drop to land on the hull and slide down, following DT. Landing with a teeth-jarring thud next to tr`Rekkohan, Rylan looks up at the boy a little painfully as he tries to regain his feet, "Ie...I *know* that was sarcasm...."

"Good," DT grins, "I'm glad I'm na the only genius around here..."

"Well, I couldn't just let au go off by ninte-self, could I?" Ry smirks and dusts himself off, "Some-io has to keep au out of trouble."

DT rolls his eyes slightly, "Where would I be without the 'mighty Rylan' to save to day." he pauses a moment then looks up at the still-smirking face of the taller boy, and asks confused, "Why are we being such smart ahz-a with each other?"

Rylan shrugs, "I have na idea." He pauses a moment to look up at the ship, then scratches the back of his head, "Now...how are we going to get back in?"

"Na idea...." DT turns to look at the ship as well, "But I need to find out what happened to Emni, and my com is na working." Getting an idea, he suddenly yells up, "Katara! Do me a favor and go look for Emni!!"

Katara's faint and worried voice comes back, "Ie! Is Rylan okay??"

This time it was Ry's turn to roll his eyes a bit, "Ie, ie!" he calls up to her, 'Now...go find Emni, then tell the Leih we're out here! *Without* our coms!" he pauses a moment to check, then adds "And my ip's suddenly decieded to go on holiday as well!"

"Wait!!" Katara's voice comes back a second later, "Here!" The boys hear the sound of metal bouncing off the hull, then slide down to sail off the edge of it. A Medkit appears in the air above them a moment, then lands on the ground between them.

"Why do we need a medkit, when I'm out here?" DT asks, staring at the object in question. Rylan smirks at DT, but doesn't answer his question. D`Tarik hesitates a moment, then nods, "Okay, it would seem both of us are in less than serious moods...and good ones to boot! But yet, we just fell out of a ship...." he looks back up at the Morrhae`Vnu

Rylan nods, turning a bit more serious, "Ie..." he turns to survey their surroundings a moment, "So...this is ch`Rihan, eh?"

"Au have never been here before?" DT asks curiously.

"Na." Ry shakes his head, then looks at the smaller boy, "Au?"

"Ie." D`Tarik nods, "I was born here. Then we moved when I was about five. But I used to visit here a lot." he smiles as he looks around them, "Good thing!"

"Ie!" Rylan agrees with a grin, "Where exactly are we, then?"

"Ummm....."

Ry waits another moment, then shakes his head slightly, "Au have na clue either, do au?"

"Well Rylan, I would say it's a safe bet to say we are in a field..." DT answers almost sarcastically, "and it looks like it's near sunrise..."

Rylan nods at this, "Ie..." as he sits down on the bluish-green grass and takes a stem of it. He leans back, chewing absently on the blade of grass, and watches the green-gold skies light up with the coming dawn. After a moment to think, he asks DT, "Now...the question is...what to do?" he looks over at the landing trail, and his eyes get wide, "Wow!!" he nods towards it, "Hope we're na going to make the local farmers angry or anything. We ripped up a good couple miles of land...at least!"

"Well..." DT looks through the binoculars he had pulled out of a lab coat pocket, "We're na near anything, that's for sure...well, wait..." he stops to put the binoculars away, then takes out a tricorder.

"What?" Ry asks curiously, coming to his feet again, "Wait for what?" Turning around with the 'corder in his hand, DT points south, "There are structures about...50 miles that way."

"50 miles." Ry raises his brow, "And...what? Au want we should walk for 50 miles....away from the ship?"

"I didn't say that...." DT shrugs in answer.

"Well, we can't transport there DT." Ry smirks, then turns back to look at the ship again. "Hey!" he snaps his fingers, "Maybe we can get a ladder...make io, or steal io, or something! That would get us back up there!"

"Steal a ladder?" DT looks at the boy as if he'd lost his mind. "From where? Make io from what?"

Ry pauses to look around the field of grass, "Obviously we can't make io...." he trails of a second, then looks back at tr`Rekkohan, "Well...anything else nearby?"

"Well..." DT goes back to looking at the tricorder, "Wait!!" he holds a finger in the air, "There's ...four lifeforms, about 2 miles away, there's a single group of structures...maybe a farm? That way..." he points the held up finger north, "Once the sun gets higher, I bet we can see them."

"Ie! Good plan!" Ry slaps him on the back, "Let's head for the farmer's then!" he exclaims happily, heading off north.

"Ow! That hurt, Rylan..." DT stretches out his back a little.

"Oh, sorry DT." Ry shrugs a little, but keeps on going.

"Wait a second..." DT asks suddenly, "Wouldn't interacting with any io in the past be bad?"

Ry halts his footsteps at that, "Oh, yeah...." he casts an almost forelorn look in the direction he'd been heading in, then shrugs again, "Well..we could sneak in and steal a ladder, au know. That's na exactly...interfering. Right?"

"Well, we also have the problem that there's na way for them na to see us, since we're in the middle of a huge open field with like, only io or two trees from what I can see." DT shakes his head.

Growing frustrated with the whole thing by this time, Ry nods annoyed, "Ie, exactly. They're bound to see the ship, unless we can get it shrouded." he raises a brow slightly, "And I can't help get the systems back online, or even tell them about the people nearby, *unless* we get a ladder."

"Well, they probably already saw it..." D`Tarik shrugs, "Good thing it looks like there's a storm over the larger group of structures, or they would've saw it too."

Rylan rubs a weary hand over his aching forehead, then asks in an unnerving innocent tone, "Would killing them be interfering with the timeline, then?" he shrugs, "Go in, kill them all, take the ladder..." he trails off.

"Ie, it would..." DT answers, casting a look to the taller boy.

"Too bad that..." Ry nods.

"For all we know, the could've founded Ra'tleihfi!" DT protests still, then scolds the taller boy, "And why would we kill them? They did na-thing wrong, Rylan!"

"I don't know!" Ry shrugs again, "This is my first time in another time!" he pauses a moment, listening to his own words, then grins, "...if that made any sense. But I don't know what to do!" he points an angry finger at the smaller boy, "Ninte the io that fell out the fvadt window!"

"Well, that's na my fault!" DT defends himself.

"Well, what's ninte plan then, if au`rh such an idea man?!" Ry crosses his arms in front of his chest defiantly.

"Oh Rylan, stop acting so tough..." DT backs down, and surveys the area around them with his eyes a moment. Rubbing his chin in thought, he mumbles, "Hmmm...well....ugh." he goes back to thinking the situation over.

Ry takes a seat back on the grass, and watches the sunrise a moment more, "Au know...." he begins quietly, "It's only a family of four..." he looks back up at DT's almost alarmed face, "We can dodge easily around four people." Ry clarifies his intent, "What say we sneak in, grab the wash on the line, and disguise ourselves? Then we can make off with a ladder and get back to the ship."

"Well actually, I read more lifesigns at the farm." DT warns, "And they could be armed..."

"And they could be animals, too!" Ry smirks and stands back up, "We can stay put here and wait for the others to find a way to get us back in... and take the chance that the farmers are on their way here now; or we can go with plan b."

"Fine, Rylan..." DT sighs, giving up the fight, "But if something bad happens this time, it's ninte fault!" he smirks, "I'm tired of being the io who screws up and gets hurt."

"Na one's gonna get hurt, DT!" Ry slaps the boy gently on the back, resuming the short hike north once more, "Au will see! We'll get the clothes...get the ladder...then it's back home for us!"

DT still hesitates, "Maybe we should just wait here, Rylan. It would be safer..." he adds hopefully.

"Fine fine fine...." Ry shrugs, and heads back to sits under the shade of the ship. "We'll sit tight right here then." he nods, and pulls another bluish-green blade of grass. He leans back against the hull of the Morrhae`Vnu and chews on the end of the blade of grass lazily.

After a few moments of silence, DT finally gives up the fight, "Okay, fine! Au don't have to pull my leg!" he starts walking off north.

Ry grins and jumps to his feet again, catching up to the smaller boy. "That's the spirit, DT!"
