[Vyynd's quarters]
He stepped out of his bathroom, leading his way with the wall. A
flickering lamp on his desk strobed half of his room from black to white
every few seconds. Heading towards his desk, he attempted to fix and turn
on the light, but it flashed then blew out. Attempting the controls to his
door in the dark, he didn't think they would have worked anyway. After
scrounging for about a second he pried a kaleh between the door roughly, and
made room for his fingers, which he then slid one of the doors open with.
Light flooded his room, the hallway seemed in perfect order...and so did
his room. Vyynd turned around, and eyed around his room and bathroom for
half a second with wide eyes, everything was normal. Turning back out into
the hallway, he noticed the vacancy of anyone in the corridor. He jogged
down toward the turbolift, glaring back as his doors shut on their own.
Rounding the corner he skidded to a halt in front of a few of the members of
the TAG team he had been with an hour ago. "Jolan'tru rekkhai..." one of
them greeted. The agent replied with an anxious nod, then questioned them
all, "Does anyone know what in the elements is going on?!" Before any of
them could finish shrugging to themselves and answer, Vyynd turned and
looked up and around the hallway, and then gawked at the doors to the
holodeck. "Great....when did we get to this deck?" he glared back at the
team, "Well.....everything's been whacked to areinnye since we left.....this
holodeck, so...." He opened the doors to it, reassured himself no program
was running, and then lead the team in.
[In the Holodeck]
They were in the holodeck....they'd figured that much out. But everything
was fine. "Fvadt...ok, let's try something...." he opened the doors again
and left the holodeck, "...else..." He stood, gaping in disbelief, staring
at the TAG team, in the holodeck.
[In the...same Holodeck]
Vyynd, rather frightened right now, turned and left the holodeck, and
entered the same holodeck. "Rekkhai, are au ok?" the woman whom had done a
fantastic slave impersonation in the last program questioned. "Just....hold
on a minute..." He left through the holodeck doors, entering the same
holodeck.
"Rekkhai, are au ok?" the same woman asked, in the same tone, in the
exact same way, at the exact same frame in time....it seemed.
"Perfectly!" tr'Khaine's brow twitched, "Alright, everyone...let's go!"
He lead the team out of the holodeck. With a sigh of....relief, they didn't
enter the same holodeck, but they didn't end up where they wanted to either.
A bird chirped off beyond the canopy of trees, the team looked around at
the entirety of green foliage, then at each other. They were all dressed in
green/brown stripped clothing, reminiscent of some bizarre disguise form.
And they each had very archaic guns of sorts. "Ok....well this is better
then the holodeck ruitine...." Vyynd whispered to himself, "Alright, now we
get to cover jungle combat i suppose...stay quiet, keep your eyes open...and
watch out for anything." He began leading the group around and through
trees and bushes, rocks, shrubs, the entire range of terrain a jungle could
offer to have to hate. They came to one point, and the entire team heard
the loud sounds of what seemed to be animals screeching horrendously.
Rounding a tree, a giant feathery black bird took flight right passed
Vyynd, and gave him line of sight to a group of morbidly skinned and
stripped bodies, dangling from the canopy a few feet above the ground.
"Fvah dha'nia Kholairlh-a nahi..." Vyynd wondered frightfully, then passed
the word on to keep an eye out for whatever did this, then he turned to the
woman, whom he had subconciously appointed his second in command here, "I
doubt those birds did this alone.....any ide..as...?" He rose his head and
quieted the woman, listening closely. "...i heard something...." Vyynd
made a few steps closer to the noise he was sure he heard. But the only
sound he as welcomed with was one of the team mates screaming, followed by
several loud and annoying guns going off. "Shit!" he jumped passed the
bodies over to the scream, and saw two of the team members gutted lying in
the jungle brush before him, another with half of his chest disintegrated
away, and no sign of any of the others.
Looking around some more, he slid against a tree for a bit of cover, and
wiped his brow of sweat. Nothing. He glanced back at the woman, whom had
walked slowly to a flank behind him, then back toward the open field that
had been cleared by the weapons fire. Looking back at Vyynd, her face
flushed with curiousity, then she shouted, "Rekkhai, DOWN!!!!" Reacting,
Vyynd dove forward into the brush besides the massacred bodies. The tree he
had been at was struck by a burst of energy and scorched beyond belief. But
now both of the rihan's had seen where the shot came from, the woman began
firing with her primitive weapon at the spot, while Vyynd saw what had
actually shot at him diving to another tree. It was invisible, nearly.
"It's cloaked, wrap around behind me!!" Vyynd yelled, and was pleased as
her weapon stopped firing and he heard her run around behind the scorched
tree and down the hill behind him. "keep running!!!" he yelled, then
sprinted off, before the thing fired and evaporated the cover they were just
sitting in. The woman had kept running, as she was ordered, but vyynd was
struck in the back of the leg with another shot. Falling to the ground with
a shreik, he glared at her from the ground to continue running. She didn't
listen, but looked passed the rekkhai, at the thing which had shot him. It
landed, blurred by light, at the other end of the clearing, and started
pacing towards tr'Khaine. He looked back at it, seeing it faze into view.
7 feet tall, spikes of hair, spotted skin, lightly armoured, it's mask
glared down at him as it strattled his position. Hearing what was easily
recognized as claws unsheathing, Vyynd rolled over and pointed a disruptor
pistol at it's torso. "Woops!" he delighted, pulling the trigger, and
watched the creature disrupt and disintigrate. Sitting up, then slowly
standing with the woman's help, "Good thing i remembered i had this on
me..." vyynd laughed, then started limping aimlessly accross the path. "Now
what...Rekkhai...?" she asked, almost on cue the room shifted, back into a
holodeck.
"Well that's a good start..." he looked back, relieved his leg was
actually fine now, but he was alone. Alone in a holodeck, this one was
different though, he should know, he had seen the other one too many times
today. It was older, sort of...or just very torn up and rusted out.
