[240104.10 Ancient ch`Rihan, Gilligama territory...]
Under the cover of darkness of ch`Rihan's nightfall, and further shielded from the ancient's eyes while their personal cloaks were activated, Rhagarokk and Rylan wait for Vyynd to report from his scout mission so they'll know what's ahead. Rhagarokk sits quietly during the wait, cloaked as the others, though of course, no one remembers him taking a cloaker along.
After a little while longer of waiting, the only sound around them the soft hum and chirp of insects, the silence is suddenly broken as both of the commanding officer's ids's beep softly. Rhagarokk takes out his isd to look at it, while Rylan rummages around in a pocket to stop the infernal beeping of his own isd, grumbling to himself.
Each screen begins to display, systematically, various reports of location, security, and other such matters of the target ahead. Activating his ip, the Leih says to Vyynd, "Good job...let's just hit the main facility, knock out any immediate guards, and use the transport pattern enhancer."
Vyynd's signal appears, several yards ahead and moving towards the pair away from the enemy camps, as Vyynd's whispered answer comes back through the ip, "Hann`yyu, rekkhai...and good course of action, the guards are few and slight..."
As the pair talk quietly through the ip, Ry signals to the few assorted officers taken along for the mini-raid through his own ip, heading off to meet Vyynd half-way; the Leih heading in that direction as well.
[Gilligama Estates....Secret Weapon base]
A short time later, the three officers converge on the large stone structure. There are no windows with which to betray it's contents. Taking a reading of the surroundings, Ry reports over the ip, "Getting a dozen or so lifeforms outside, wandering around. Two are by what looks like a door... some readings inside the structure..."
Through his own ip, Rhagarokk answers, "I think we can bypass the outer guards if we can take out all the inner guards silently. They won't ever know what happened."
"Easily plausible..." Vyynd's voice comes over the ip as the agent takes point.
"Shouldn't be too hard," Rylan's voice agrees through their ips as he creeps closer to the structure, "especially since they can't see us. We could climb to the roof and enter that way."
At first Rhagarokk only nods, but then realizes the futility in that action, "Ie," he answers back through the ip once more, "Sounds good to me."
Vyynd, who had already reached the structure itself, informs them both over the ip, "Working on it...." as he pulls out an air-projected grappling hook, moving towards a part of the structure away from any passing guards. A short while later and Rhagarokk moves around to where Vyynd is working,
Rylan quickly reaching the place as well, keeping a look-out while Vyynd gets the hook positioned in place. The officers they had brought with them, staying around the perimeter, ready to serve as back up if need be.
Launching the hook silently, Vyynd ascends the rope quickly, standing on the roof now to wait for the others. Rhagarokk is next to ascend, a lot less quickly then the agent had done. Ry waits a bit, then climbs up last. Once on the roof itself, Rylan's eyes scan the rooftop looking for their point of entry and spies Vyynd standing next to a skylight. Smoked glass prevented a preview of what was to be found within the structure itself.
As the three stand around the skylight, Vyynd questions quietly through the ip, "Best course of action?"
"Au`rh the Tal`Shiar Agent," Rhagarokk replies, "Au tell me... they might notice if we open it up, and we also have to get down..."
Letting them talk about it between themselves, Rylan removes a round object from a pocket of his uniform and places it on a pane of glass. A soft clink sound is heard a moment later. Looking up at where he assumed Vyynd to be standing, he questions through the ip, "Any lifeforms directly below? I can lift this pane out if it's clear."
Vyynd takes a moment to read over his scanner before answering, "Ie, three life forms below... though it being night, they probably won't notice the skylight moving in time..." he pulls out two carbine, silent pistols, and prepares a falling rig for himself.
Rylan nods, though Vyynd can't see it, "Just give the go ahead when au`rh ready, and I'll remove the glass..."
"Hann`yyo..." Vyynd's ghostly voice comes back through as the agent stands ready, "At ninte whim..."
Through the ip Rhagarokk gives the other two the plan of attack, "We each take io, take them out as soon as we land, silently as possible, and quickly set up the transporter buffers in a triangular formation around the core."
"How far down do au assume the floor is?" Vyynd questions with his ip. Rhagarokk takes a quick scan of the structure, "52.3 feet."
As the pair talked, Rylan quickly gets another rope ready for himself, making sure he'd have to jump down the last few feet. Lifting the handle on the circular object, the pane of smoke glass is lifted silently out as well. Ry then sets the pane of glass carefully and quietly to the side. "After au..." he says through the ip.
Vyynd nods graciously, "So, that's 40 feet for me...." he answers the Leih, adjusting the length of his rope a few feet, Vyynd then dives through the frame, taking aim as he falls. His target falls to Vyynd's pistols, the agent silently catching him before the dead guard could hit the floor, still hanging upside down from his rope. Spinning over, Vyynd lands gently on the ground, hooks the body to his rope, which retracts it back to the roof as the others quickly dispatch their own targets, moving to secure the area.
Rhagarokk dives in shortly afterwards. Touching down, he makes a slight noise. As one of the guards turns to look, a short ZZZZAP sound completely obliterates the guard. Looking at the dust, Rhagarokk says quietly over the ip, "I hope that wasn't anyone's ancestor..."
Ry had waited only a moment for the Leih to jump through, unsheathing his Kalen. He then jumps through the opening, landing down behind his own mark. Quickly sneaking up from behind as the other is distracted by the faint zap sound, Rylan grabs the guard's hair, pulling back his head and silencing the target by slicing his throat. As the guard's body goes limp, Ry drags the body into a far off dark corner of the room, then wipes the blade clean on the dead guard before sheathing the Kalen once more.
Unhooking himself clumsily, Rhagarokk continues, "Next time, I'm leaving this to the Agents... Let's set up those enhancers." He places his own enhancer down and activates it.
Heading back over to the core, Rylan sets up his enhancer at one side, informing the Leih after a moment, "Mine's good to go..."
At the Leih's remark about leaving these kinds of missions to the Agents, Vyynd's voice comes through with a chuckle, "Actually, I like ninte method...amazingly clean." Vyynd places his own enhancer before stepping back. "Set here..."
Through the ip, Rhagarokk calls the Engineer, "Rhagarokk to Tacrun...io big, heavy thing to beam out..." A few seconds later, beams of light form a triangle around the warp core, which then soon flickers and begins to beam out. There is obviously a bit of trouble, but before too long, the core disappears entirely.
While Rylan waits with baited breath to hear if the core arrived as hoped, Vyynd turns and heads back to the skylight, "Let's be off then?" the agent questions, resetting his grappler.
After the acknowledgement that the core made it safe and sound, but that the transporters blew themselves out came through, Rylan nods and says through the ip as he heads over towards Vyynd, "First problem solved...worry about the next later..."
Vyynd launches the hook up and begins his ascent once it's secure. Once on the roof again, the agent glances around while moving the guard's recently shot body to a hidden area of the roof, then heads to the side of the building.
Launching a hook himself, and ascending as well, Rhagarokk's voice comes over the ip, "We replace the cover and get out of here and head straight back...we're going home, boys!"
Ry waits for the Leih to ascend before following them. After the climb, he resets the pane of glass, taking the circular object with him, then heads to the edge of the roof, waiting to repel off it after the others.
