SRR Morrahe`VnuChapter One Hundred - Thirty-Five:
Reporting to the Leih
[240103.19 Crew's Encampment....]

Leaving his new device behind, Rhagarokk climbs down the ladder from the ship. Spotting Rylan wandering around the camp, he hops down and heads over the RS before putting a hand on his shoulder, "Rylan!"

"Ahhh!" Ry jumps a foot and spins around, "Rekkhai!" he says with a nervous little grin, "Finished already...or are au heading back to the lab?"

Rhagarokk jumps back at the reaction from the boy, "Ie, I'm finished, as much as can be done...So, why so jumpy? Boredom really gotten to au this much?"

"Boredom?" Ry repeats with a raised brow, "Well...it hasn't exactly been..boring, really." he glances around the camp a bit before continuing, "Aemhig apparently feels better...I hope...." his eyes come back to the Leih, "as she's gone missing."

Rhagarokk shakes his head at this bit of news, "Wonderful. So I guess Vyynd has had something to do, trying to track her down, eh?"

"Oh...ie." Rylan nods, then looks down at his feet as he explains, "Vyynd's keeping busy..." then adds speaking quickly, "...what with the murders and all."

"Well, that's good...." Rhagarokk says calmly enough. Then after a three second pause, "Murders???"

"Uh...ie. There's been three of them..." Ry takes an uncomfortable pause to look at the Leih a moment, before quickly looking away once more, "Tr`Ehger...tr`Beck...and t`Bahyk..."

Rhagarokk suddenly grabs Rylan by the shoulders and begins shaking him roughly while shouting, "Are the universal translators functioning correctly???"

Rylan, wincing at the shout and preparing to be hit, answers quickly, "Ie! They're working fine!"

"What a relief..." Rhagarokk lets go of the boy, "I thought we had a REAL problem on our hands! His base my Rihannsu fanny..." he turns slightly, "So, what's the deal? Angry villagers? Warring clans? Bad soup?"

"Uh..." Ry takes a half step back and stares at the man a moment, "Just some nut-case..." then offers hopefully, "I have the Khensia working on a profile...and Vyynd's doing what he can, but we don't know who it is yet. The killer, I mean."

"Ah, great," Rhagarokk grins, "Sounds like the two of au are working to get things under control."

"Ie!" Ry brightens considerably, "Everything's fine..or will be soon." he thinks about his own words, then nods.

"If au need more power to the Khensia, tell Tacrun to draw power away from other things to accommodate au. This is high priority at the moment. I'd also like Aemhig found as soon as possible."

"Ie, rekkhai." Ry grins, "I'll ask the search party for a report on her possible local..."

"Great. Now, as for other matters...." Rhagarokk begins, "We simply don't have the resources to do repairs to the extent that we need to get the Wildstrike Back to the Future."

"Ie..." Ry ponders the problem a second, "But couldn't we just..well, kinda shift the area around the ship or something? Like...phase it back?" he stops to look at the area around himself, "Course, if we could do that, we might end up in someone's house...or a school...or something." he suddenly grins, "But we'd be home!"

Rhagarokk looks over at the crashed hulk, "I'm afraid it's na that easy. In order to move around in time, we need chronitions, and chronitions aren't easy to generate. I was trying to build a semi-time pod so as to get a message to the future, but we seem to be lacking some important components..."

"So we're stuck here." Ry looks again to the camp around them, "What, exactly, are these components that au need?"

"Well, some are future alloys nearly impossible to synthesize... but some components are minerals. There's a mine of Argine to the south that I would like to get my hands on, but I think the present residents would object..."

"Unless we offered them something in return...they more then likely will." Ry thinks about that problem, "Or...we could go as miners and simply take some.... but to get enough of what you'd need might take a while that way."

"We'd need a lot of it," Rhagarokk explains, "and we'd need regular access to the mine to prevent it from taking years. It's enough in Gilgamma territory that we'd have to take a portion of their land in order to gain access to it."

"Um...." Ry thinks back to Tacrun's mini history lesson, "tr`Hunrok said that they were massacred.... by another clan." His eyes focus on the Leih again, as his brow raises slightly, "If we could find out just when that war started...perhaps we could be a small part of it, and take the land. We've obviously been here before....cause of T`Rehu and all... so that's probably what we did!" Ry grins and nods at his own suggestion.

Rhagarokk nods at this, "Good idea, exec. We'll have to consult Tacrun and see what we can come up with. That all can come after we find this killer and Aemhig..." then adds in a mumble, "unless they're one and the same."

"Well...unless Aemhig's going around in a Galae uniform, wearing size 11 standard issue military boots...I don't think she's a suspect." Ry offers.

"Io of my people then...." Rhagarokk raises an eyebrow. "Well, let's get to it."
