SRR Morrahe`VnuChapter One Hundred - Twenty:
Rhagarokk Locked Away
[240103.09 Inside the Morrhae'vnu: Hidden Lab]

Rhagarokk wiped the sweat from his brow. Scientific gadgets and spacial oddities were no longer much of a challenge to the veteran scientist, who had learned from and been the best in two separate timelines. And he was used to having to improvise. But this was proving to be a monumental challenge: construct a time hopping device from the remnants of his ship, with the only external parts being mud and sticks. Propping the chamber up on it's end, Rhagarokk grunted and stepped back. It wasn't working. There simply wasn't enough power to run something of that sort. Time shifting was not something that could be done with a few batteries. He needed to think. He needed to work. He couldn't stand being away from experimenting for too long. It had happened before; when Donalh was kept away from his experiments for too long, it tended to come out in strange ways. Who knows what he would do... invent a revolutionary way of farming? A steam-powered hammer? A nuclear weapon built from sticks and mud? He felt it inside him, the need to experiment. Rhagarokk walked over to his lab terminal and fired it up and begin to speak a message.

"Rylan, I bet au'rh wondering why I haven't been seen in several days. The truth is, there is an experiment that requires my utmost concentration if we are to have any hope of getting home. The nature of time is such that this device, with the limited materials that I have, will require almost constant attention for the time being. We do na want large chunks of ancient ch'Rihan appearing in the future, right? So for a few days, I will be unavailable. In the meantime, I put au in charge of taking care of the crew. Au have yet to disappoint me, and I have full confidence in ninte leadership abilities. In the meantime, just make sure everything stays peaceful. Do na undertake any major operations until I return, just hold down the fort, as it were. Also, do me a favor and hold the ceremony to promote Farien tr'Tahn to Erien. While I haven't seen him pilot much, his input has been oddly valuable on this mission. Other than that, may the elements guide au. Hopefully, in a week or so, I will have gotten the bugs worked out and will have a temporal transporter functioning. Jolan'Tru, Arrain." With that, he cuts the transmission.

He sighs and steps over to his personal replicator to make himself some food before continuing on with the experiments. Even though it's something he should be able to normally build in his sleep, the situation turned it into the hardest invention he ever had to make...
