SRR Morrahe`VnuChapter One Hundred - Five:
Breaking Up Is Hard To Do
[Corridors of the Wildstrike...]

Rylan stopped short in the hallway, being brought back from his wandering thoughts as to the identity of the farm-girl that DT had saved, by the loud crash and the furious sounding "Fvadt!" Looking slightly ahead of himself and up, he saw t`Bahyk climb down the step ladder she had been perched on to retrieve the ceiling panel that she had dropped. Holding it firmly, t`Bahyk once more ascended the ladder and tried to lift the panel over her head to set it in place. Sliding one of her hands over the panel to push against the center, t`Bahyk first let go with the other, then slowly moved her newly freed hand down to reach for the utility sealing tool at her belt. She had no sooner freed the tool from it's place, then the panel first jittered, then tilted itself, before crashing to the floor once again. "Elements curse it!" she stomped her foot on the step ladder, then climbed back down to retrieve the panel yet again.

Shaking his head and chuckling softly over the scene, Rylan approached closer, offering a good-humored smile at the frustrated glare she tossed his way. "What seems to be the problem?" He asked already knowing the answer, as he bent to pick the panel up from the floor for her.

"Nathing rekkhai...I can manage." she paused to look up at the exposed circuitry in the ceiling of the corridor, then looked back down to the panel Ry held.

"Maybe I can help?" he offered with the same smile, motioning the girl to climb the ladder again. "I'll hold it up there, and you seal it back in place."

Smiling back and nodding at this idea, t`Bahyk offered a 'hann`yyo' and ascended the ladder once more. Ry climbed up after her, and being taller then the girl, was easily able to hold the panel in place. t`Bahyk, with the sealing tool in hand, moved the laser over the edges of the panel, fusing the seams together once more. Looking down at the boy who had helped her, and noting that he hadn't stepped down as yet, she smiled again as his arms lowered from the newly replaced panel. "Hann`yyo rekkhai...."

"Na problem." he nodded once, then moved to step down. Either t`Bahyk saw her chance rapidly retreating, or his sudden movement caused the ladder to shift, throwing her off balance. But no matter how it happened, t`Bahyk had ended up in the startled boy's arms. "Hann`yyo again, rekkhai..." the girl smiled a little slyly. As luck would have it, Katara rounded the corner just then to see t`Bahyk in Rylan's arms. At first the barmaid just stood there, quietly observing and not reacting to this scene at all, then takes a few steps back to peek around the edge of the corner so she wouldn't be noticed by the pair.

Ry grins a little at t`Bahyk, making sure the girl is standing firmly on her feet once more, 'Na problem..." The good humored grin faltered shortly thereafter when the girl still hadn't taken her arms off from around him. Realizing that the boy was about to pull away from her, t`Bahyk summoned her courage up, then pulled the startled boy closer quickly kissing him.

Still peeking from around the corner, Katara's shocked face quickly turns to one of fury instead. Having way too much stress lately with the crash, and knowing that Rylan has been losing his grip on his battle with cutting out the Rhennish, this next was just too much to ask her to deal with. Before Rylan had a chance to react to the assistant's forward pass, the barmaid charges down the hall and rips the girl off Rylan. Spinning the other girl around to face her, Katara balls up a fist and delivers a wicked punch square on t`Bahyk's face, sending the officer to the ground. Screaming a string of curses, Katara pins the other to the floor and wails the tar out of her.

More then slightly confused as to how the situation had suddenly erupted in the first place, Ry first looks down one way of the corridor, then the other, relieved to note that no security personnel were present to witness the unfortunate incident, then pulls the infuriated barmaid off the poor assistant operations officer, turning Katara around to face him, "What the Areinnye are au doing - striking an officer?!" he asks in shock, wondering what he could possibly say to t`Bahyk to keep her from reporting the whole thing, and having Katara arrested. Tossing an angry look to the girl who had started the whole thing, and was only now regaining her feet, he tossed out a sarcastic, "Could au *possibly* give us a moment?"

"Na, what are *au* doing?!" Katara yelled at him, "And I will strike another io!!" she suddenly proclaims, before a well-aimed knee found it's mark. As soon as Ry let her go, the barmaid takes off, crying down the corridor.

Pausing a moment with his eyes squeezed shut, and not able to follow after the distraught girl, Ry manages a confused and painful, "Fvadt! What I do?!" Feeling t`Bahyk's arm go around his shoulders Ry shrugs her off, gently pushing the trouble-maker away from him, and was immediately rewarded for this by a slap across the face.

"Don't push me again!" t`Bahyk angrily declares, stomping off down the corridor in the opposite direction that the barmaid took

"What the Areinnye'a going on around here anyway!?" he yells at the top of his voice after the retreating form of the assistant, "Au were the io that kissed me!" More angry and confused then hurt, Ry throws the stupid ladder that had caused the problem in the first place down the corridor. "That's just imirrhlhhse-asi terrific!! What else can go wrong today!?" And no sooner had those words left his lips, then that same panel from the ceiling fell on his head. Almost seeing the humor of this, Ry shakes his head as his eyes travel up to look at the exposed circuitry in the ceiling and chuckles -- sounding just a touch across the border of reality -- "I just had to ask...." then walks off to try and find Katara.

After roaming the corridors awhile, still worried over the possible damage to the timeline caused by D`Tarik, and wondering how the day had suddenly took a turn on the bad side after the ladder incident, Ry grumbles angrily to himself as he rounds a corner, "That's the last time I offer to help some-io, I swear to the Elements!" His wandering mind is brought back to itself as he noticed Katara leaning against the wall a little farther down the corridor he had just walked into.

Not looking at him, and apparently no longer upset, her quiet voice greets him as he approaches closer, "I knew au would come looking for me."

"And why wouldn't I?" he asks with a slight shrug, "Au obviously had the wrong idea, and were upset..."

"I had the wrong idea about a lot of things, Rylan." she interrupts him before he could say anything further.

Having heard similar speeches on more then one occasion, Ry nods, knowing what was coming next. "Okay then." he turns from her and walks away.

That seemed enough to make her finally look at him. Standing away from the wall she demanded angrily. "Na, Rylan! Au are na going to just walk away from this! Deal with this! Deal with me... I deserve at least that much!"

"Deal with what?" Ry asked turning around again, but slowly walking backwards, "Au being jealous? Always acting suspicious of me? Au don't trust me....I don't think au ever did!" he shakes his head and turns away from her again, still walking away. "Na, hann`yyo. Just go on and think what au like!"

"Na, Rylan! Stop it!" she runs after him and blocks his way, "Au cut the hnaev! I'm the io to be mad here! I have plenty of reason to be jealous! I thought I was ninte girlfriend..." she waved a hand down the corridor, referring to the incident earlier, "Guess na!" she poked an angry finger against his chest, "Au have problems, Rylan, that I just can't deal with anymore. I have done *na-thing* but help au, and all I get is hnaev from au! Ninte friend D`Tarik has been nicer to me then au - that's na how it's supposed to be!" she stomps her foot angrily, then spins on her heel and marches off.

Rylan, who had been trying to contain his own anger at the girl's rant, finally yells at her from where he still stood, "Exactly what the Areinnye haven't I done for au?! 'Do this Rylan - do that, Rylan,'" he mimiced her voice spitefully, "'Act this way - don't act that way!'" he paused then shouted in his normal voice, louder then before, "What more do au want from me?! Au`rh just like every other girl - always trying to change the man au proclaim to be so in love with into something that he's na!" he shakes an angry finger in her direction, "I've seen too many of ninte type before! I've seen the likes of au turn good men into monsters! Either au can accept me for who I am, or au can go to Areinnye! I don't care anymore!" He turns and heads off in the opposite direction.
