SRR Morrahe`VnuChapter One Hundred - Two:
Rumors
[Ch'Rihan's past...]

It was a sight not hard to miss, even though it was early in the morning. A giant green bird of flame plummeting from the sky doesn't usually go unnoticed. Surveyors had been dispatched, of course, but 50 miles away was a long distance for the settlers who did not have enough transportation to go around for everyone. It would take them a few days. But a small farm in the middle of nowhere sent it's boys to town to pick up supplies. The boys used two of the rideable animals from the farm and arrived in town to do their business. But this time, they did more than shop. They talked, and talked, and talked, as their father had talked and talked to them.

And that's where it started.

S'Task had recently died, and although the news hadn't fully reached everywhere yet except in rumor, it was still spreading like wildfire. And the arrival of an important looking person with a Shairen [Pierceblood] sword seemed like too much of a coincidence to be ignored.

And people took it and ran with it.

It started with a simple retelling of the two boys who had arrived at their home, and how they were dressed strangely and talked kinda funny and one of them was a doctor, and how their father arrived at their home with his bodyguard to retrieve them. And this simple story took on an evolutionary life of it's own, as rumors do.

It then became how two boys came to a farmhouse, one of them being strong enough to lift a barn and the other a miracle doctor able to cure any illness. And their father, a noblemen and unknown clan leader, carrying one of the Blades of Destiny from the old world.

Then it became the clan leader who had come to ch'Rihan on one of the crashed fartravel ships (backed up by the two boys story). Then it evolved into a clan from one of the lost fartravel ships had finally arrived, and their leader had come to take S'Task's place of rulership, and his clan was made up of super people that had gained mysterious powers among the stars during their journey.

Each person had their own unique version of it. The only problem was that everyone was believing all of it. Even the stuff that contradicts the other stuff.

And the only common factor was, they all wanted to see this "Sh'haq", the mighty outpost in the woods. So in droves, people abandoned the city and headed towards the crash site. Even more of a problem... the clan wars were beginning. And the clans received these rumors, and began to react.
