SRR AylhrChapter Twenty-Two: Swooping in for the Kill
[Oira, SRR Aylhr, Lloann'na Space]

Dais'erie'Riov Conn'Hae i'Caernu tr'Rok sat in the Command Throne, his hands gripping the high arms while he seethed silently.

The Leih of the SRR Terha had taken a calculated risk, he had broken formation with the other three ships chasing the t'Rakla, decloaked and attempted to destroy the Warbird himself. His plan, to gain Mnhei'Sahe for the ship's destruction, at the expense of his Wing Leih and the Aylhr.

The fact that the Zakdorn aboard the t'Rakla had dropped phased mines from the rear of the ship and then escaped back into warp had prevented his plans from seeing fruition. This failure dishonoured the Terha. If the ship's Rhaetelh'Saehne had not killed the Leih for this crime Conn'Hae would see them both executed.

The Terha now limped along behind the other three ships, the Sentaire being restored to it's place on the Aylhr's flank. The ship's now closed once again on the Warbird fleeing at roughly warp factor six. They had swiftly caught up with the ship, Erien t'Charon making adjustment's to her sensors to scan better for mines in the subspace field.

As Arrain tr'Randuiel pushed a little more speed out of the Aylhr, careful not to push her too close, too soon.

"Ifvelhr'Saehne, prepare to decloak on my order. Amnei'Saehne, Disruptors, target their Shields." came the Leih's voice, breaking the silent tension that had taken hold of the Oira.

"Ie, Rekkhai." came the replies as the Ifvelhr'Saehne jumped quickly to fulfil her duty. Her hand wavered over the holographic console before her.

"Disruptors targeted. Should Reh use the Bolt Throwers, Rekkhai?" asked t'Charon. IF they used the beam weapons on a target like the t'Rakla it would suffer a lot more damage than his plan required.

"Na, Erien. Disruptors only." he insisted, frowning as t'Charon knew his plans. Perhaps her way of putting others off the scent at this time.

"Coming into weapons range, Rekkhai. 350,000km and closing." called the Arrain at Gonaii, sitting intently watching the viewscreen.

The Leih nodded, "Ifvelhr'Saehne, let them see us!" he called loudly, pointing over to her console.

"Decloaking, Rekkhai!" snapped back the acknowledgement.

Conn'Hae moved his pointed finger around towards t'Charon as he heard the Aylhr decloaking, "Fire at will, Amnei. Take them down."

Looking back to the viewscreen he saw the t'Rakla decloak moments after the Aylhr. Faster even than the SRR Hrao'd'era on their right flank. With the ships decloaked there was no problems with communication with the other ships. the Khhae'Saehne dealt with the sudden influx of traffic from the ships of the squadron as the disruptor's of the three forward ships began blazing. It would not take long to take out this single ship.

The Leih hit his comm unit slightly too hard as the adrenalin surged through his system, making his heart race as it had first as a fighter pilot, and then on the Oira of this very ship during the War with the Lloann'na.

"Reh want the 'package' ready to be delivered in 5 suiren-a." he said on a secure channel to Arrain tr'Rok down in the Transporter Room. He continued to watch as the disruptors fired continuously at the t'Rakla, the Warbird attempting to carry out evasive manoueveres.

"Ready in Re, Rekkhai." tr'Rok spoke to the comm unit from the Transporter Room

Suddenly all five ships were dropping out of warp, Jarok had anticipated the t'Rakla's move fastest and followed her into normal space. The other ships shot past before quickly recovering and turning back to the attack. In the moment's confusion the Warbird was bearing down on the Terha, all weapons firing.

The damaged shields and systems of the K'Sejnik class ship were no match for the firepower of a D'Deridex II. Before any could react the Terha erupted in a blaze of fire from the centre of it's saucer shaped main section. The nacelles blew off in complete sections with parts of each wing, flying in different directions as the small pieces of debris that had once been a ship of the Republic died.

Conn'Hae realized he had leapt from his Throne and stood contemplating changing his orders and blasting the t'Rakla out of the sky. Without thinking his Ch'Vash'rek trained body began to calm itself down, his breathing slowed and his heartrate started to slow.

The sound of tr'Rok's body once again broke his train of thought as The Leih heard him say, "Arham Leih, transport on ninte mark."

As he sat back in his Throne the Warbird ahead of the Aylhr was once again on the defensive, fleeing the three remaining Rihann'su ships. He glanced up at t'Charon who gave an imperceptible nod.

"Acknowledged, Arrain. transport in Rhi.... Khi.... Thi.... Re.... Io.... Mark!"

The Oira seemed to go silent again as Conn'Hae waited for confirmation of the transport of Ullhan tr'Rondra of the 'Dev' over to the ship. The moment passed slowly before he heard the thweep.

Arrain tr`Rok tapped his comm unit once again, "Package shows safe arrival, Rekkhai." he said to the Leih.

Conn'Hae smiled slightly to himself, his plan was all proceeding nicely.
