The Death
of Bakura:
Geez....
If I had a dime for every time this guy "dies", I'd be
rich! ...Well, not really but...
Let's count the ways, shall we? :)
- In Duelist Kingdom, when Yami sends
him to the Graveyard.
- In Battle City, when Yami Malik
banishes his soul and body during a dark duel.
- In Ancient Egypt, when Yami kills
Bakura's soul monster...
- Anyone willing to bet that he
"dies" in the Japanese Monster World first season
too?
So that's like... what... one death per season? Man, talk
about resilient. -_-0
Now, where does that leave us? Ahem... Battle City, I suppose.
During the Battle City Finals, Yami
Malik is bent on killing Rishid, but Malik is willing to take
steps to prevent his foster brother's death. Through his link
with Bakura, he's able to become a sort of substitute hikari,
since Ryou is down and out, and work as Yami Bakura's partner.
(These guys like mixing up yami/hikari relationships, don't
they?)
They challenge Yami Malik to a dark
duel, but it's not like the duels we've seen thus far. This
time, when a player's life points go down, a physical part of
the player disappears into darkness so that at 0 LP, the
player will be dead. |

Think Yami B's doin' this for free? ^^ Of course not. Malik promised
him the Rod. No holds bared to save his foster brother. Malik even
goes so far as to request that his body be burned (ok, now, if his
body disappears into darkness, what's there to burn?!) after the
duel so that Yami Malik will never have a vessel again.
So they duke it out and Yami Malik manages to defeat Bakura
with Ra's "One Turn Kill". Bakura vows to revive and
kill Yami Malik, and gives his patented "I originally came from
the darkness, I will return..." speech. ^_^

Guess where Yami Bakura ends up? Yep,
in Yami's soul room! How, you ask? ;) Remember when
Yami B. imprinted a piece of his soul into Yugi's puzzle piece
way back when this whole Battle City thing started? Yeah,
well, that actually had a purpose! :) |
So now, Yami B's lurking around
Yami's heart maze like... well... like a thief, trying to find
Yami's true door and watching events unfold in the meantime
like he's watching his favorite soap opera. -_-
This
will carry over to the next season, when Yugi and co. go looking for
Yami's true door in order to find Yami's memories of Ancient Egypt,
and ultimately, his name. Yami B. tags along for the ride. There's
also gonna be a new villian introduced. :D One that Yami B.
actually bows to! Can't imagine it, eh?
New: Wheeeeee! I've got confirmation on Ryou! According to Amiasha, Ryou
was around when Yugi and Co. decided to go into Yami's heart maze,
but Bobasa tested everyone with the Scales, and Ryou didn't make the
cut. Apparently he "ran off crying". **sniffles** Poor,
poor Ryou. :*( On the plus side, he didn't die as a result of Ra's
attack. ^_^()
