Burger
World:
You might have heard of the "Burger World" incident. Takes
place back in the early days when Yami was still rather ruthless and
freaky-lookin'. (Ha! Finally got Volume 1 from the library!) I think there was a very brief
flash-back mention of it in the anime.

It starts off with a convict who's escaped from the
prison, killing a guard in the process. An alert is put
up.
Meanwhile, the next day, Yugi,
Jou and Anzu are in class. Jou mentions a really good fast
food restaurant that opened up recently, Burger World,
and says that they should go and check the place out (Yugi's
favorite food is hamburgers, after all ^_^). Anzu looks
nervous and says that it's a bad idea. People've gotten sick
at that restaurant (Lie! Lie!). Yugi looks vaguely disappointed,
but he relents.
After school, Jou convinces Yugi to tail Anzu, 'cause she's
been actin' suspicious. He figures she's got a sugar daddy
hidden somewhere... a man who pays for her company. They tail
her and surprise of all surprises, they end up at Burger
World! Walking up to the door, who should greet them but...
Anzu!
Horrified that the boys have found her, she shuffles backwards
into the restaurant. After school jobs are prohibited and if
word gets out, she'll be expelled (insert Anzu mentally
cursing Jou... but not Yugi! ^_^).
Meanwhile the boys nervously take
their seats. Yugi's thinking that it was a bad idea to follow
Anzu... and that she looked damn cute in her waitress
outfit. XD

Anzu comes with their order, falsely cheerful, and brandishes a
bottle of "Burger World's special ketchup". With the
ketchup she squirts "TELL AND YOU DIE" on their meal.
^_^() Let's just say the boys are a bit freaked. Anzu tells them
that her dream is to be a dancer, and so she's working for the funds
to get her into dance school. Yugi promises that they won't
tell.
Meanwhile, that escaped convict that's running around has developed
the craving for a cigarette and a drink. Crawling out of the woods,
what establishment should our resident villain stumble upon but
Burger World? XD So Mr. Escaped Convict makes is way into Burger
World and waves his gun around. Then he takes Anzu hostage (bad, bad
idea) and blindfolds her, telling everyone else to get down. He
drags her over to the chairs and orders a shrimpy kid (Yugi) to get
him some vodka and a pack of cigarettes.
Anzu catches the mention of shrimpy and immediately thinks
"Yugi!". She stands and yells for him to get away.
Furious, the convict slaps her down.
Yep, guess what happens? Puzzle
glows, sennen eye flashes, and Yami takes over, confidently
lounging on the seat across from Mr. Doomed Convict
("Hey! I didn't give you permission to sit!"). Yami
smirks and predictably challenges the man to a game.

The rules are simple, both contestants must pick a finger, and after
the game starts, they're not allowed to move any finger but the one
they've chosen. When the game starts, the goal is to take down your
opponent. The man, holding Yami at gun-point, sneers and chooses his
trigger finger. Yami, smirking back, chooses his thumb.

Chuckling,
the thug brings his gun up to bare, when Yami holds up a
lighter. Blinking, the thug says something to the effect of
"Heh, I almost forgot about that. After you light my
cigarette, you die".
Still smirking, Yami flips the
lighter open with his thumb and lights the guy's cigarette,
but instead of closing it again, he drops in on the convict's
left hand, which is pouring his drink. Leaning back Yami states
that the drink is 90% alcohol. Just try to pull the trigger
and the recoil will make him drop the lighter for sure.
Horrified, the man watches dumbly as
his drink overflows and vodka spills over onto the table and his
lap. He gets a crazed I'm-gonna-die look in his eye and starts
to laugh, saying "lucky me". |
Yami drags Anzu away by the wrist. Behind them, the convict's lips
part and his cigarette falls. Spark + alcohol = flamb�. Fshoom!
Man up in flames.
Anzu reaches up and removes her blindfold,
looking around in confusion. Jou runs up to them and says the man's
an idiot for setting himself on fire (Liz: Yes, man burning, does no
one care?!). Anzu closes her eyes and swoons over the mysterious
voice that said "Let's play a game" (Liz: Flames! Behind
you! Burning!). Meanwhile, Yugi regains control and is complaining
that he never got a chance to eat his hamburger (Liz: **rolls her
eyes**).
