I have some information on Marrow for you.  She is a Morlock named
Sarah.  The Morlocks were a group of disfigured mutants who formed a
secret colony in the New York sewers.  They were decimated during the
Morlock massacre, and Sarah was one of the few survivors.  She was a
child during her first appearance (late 1980's ?), but she and a few
others got sucked into some time warp or some such silly thing, aged
into adulthood, and were deposited back into the Morlock tunnels.
This group became the Gene Nation, an evil group determined to get
revenge against the "pretty mutants" (i.e. the X-Men) who could on the
surface with the humans.  To make a long story short, Storm was their
main target since she had once led the Morlocks and "abandoned" them.
Storm defeated Marrow and ripped her heart out.  Conveniently, she had
two hearts, so she survived.  She was taken in by the X-Men, and became
a member of the group about four years ago.  She once stabbed Wolverine
in the throat with one of her bone spears, but now she's acting fairly
normally.
