Winding Paths

For a while we walked together

But all paths come to bends

Our paths now lead in different ways

To distant unknown ends

With breaking heart and much remorse

I see us sweep apart

I’ll never forget the care you took

Of my fallible heart

I’ll never forget those two years

When our roads were intertwined

Who knows where our roads may finally lead

Or run together again, someday, sometime.
