Ode to a Memory: Hours

Remember days and nights

When we couldn’t be?

Hours each day of Heaven

Hours more of honeyed agony

Hours twined together

Hours cooling in the breeze

Hours walking in the sunshine

Hours spent however we pleased

Hours kept apart

Hours other lives we’d live

Hours of longing secretly

Hours dreaming of what if

Hours talking with fingers

Hours touching across the miles

Hours thinking of caresses

Hours remembering the smiles

Hours waiting to be together

Hours together so quick to flee

Hours apart would last forever

Hours waiting to return to thee

Remember days and nights

When we couldn’t be?

                 Love,
