PERU
On the way to The Sacred Valley is Saqsayhuaman, with formed the head of the Puma shape that oulines Cuzco. The stones can weigh up to 80 tonnes .. The zig zag walls are the center of The Inti Raymi Festival celebrating the winter solstice, every 24th of June.
The Nazca Pampa is covered by the mysterious Nazca Lines ... straight lines and geometric shapes of animals and birds that have been marked into the stony ground. This figures can only been seen properly from the air.
The Nazca Mummies have been well preserved thanks to the the
arid weather .. but not against the grave robbers.
According to the legend ..  the First Inca, Manco Capac and his sister, Mama Ocllo rose up out of the Lake Titicaca in search of the place to establish The Inca Empire ... Cusco. The Uros people have lived for centuries in The Floating Islands .. which are made out of Totora reeds, that grow in the shallows of the Lake.
The Paracas Peninsula is the most important  wildlife area in the coast of Peru. Sealions and seabird live on the islands. The landscape is a mixture of desert, sea and huge cliffs ... the best view is from the top of La Catedral.
Cusco .. Qosqo in Quechua .. or "The Earth's Navel" ... was the center of the Tayantinsyo (four directions: North, South, East and West) .. the most beautiful memory I have is in La Plaza de Armas ..  at night the lights shone everywhere to show the city of Cusco .. with the shape of a Colonial Town but with the soul of the greatest city of The Inca Empire.
Down this hill is the entrance of one of the most beautiful places in the World ... Machu Picchu.
The Lost City of The Incas ..
... soon will be one story to read of my three day journey throught the Inca Trail ..
The Goberment Palace in Plaza Mayor. The friendly people, important historical sites, museums and the variety of
entertainment options, make of
Lima an interesting place to visit.
