PTSA Meeting 5/8/03

Meeting began at 7:47 pm.

We reviewed last month's meeting minutes. Chris Funk moved to approve the
minutes. Motion passed.

Grad Night - Sue Suttle
-
Ticket sales were 26 as of last Thursday. Marla has been getting lots of
interest. We need to hand out the guidelines at one of the mandatory rehearsals.
We can sell tickets at the luau, rehearsals, lunch, the panoramic picture.

We have hired a hypnotist for entertainment for $500.

$400 for 40 pizzas from Pizza My Heart was donated.

We need a check for $728.25 for keychains. We ordered 225 from Boda.

We owe $8000 to Boomers.

We should get the Grad Night guidelines posted on the school Website.

We have 4 chaperones so far, 2 of whom are teachers. We need 6. We need
more volunteers.

We will have 1 more PTSA meeting. It will be a potluck dinner on Wednesday
June 11 at Sue Suttle's house. It will be a combined PTSA and Grad Night
Committee meeting. We need to get checks signed. We need to elect officers.

Treasurer's Report - Karen Jolly

The balance is $10,534.

Cary Catching moved to approve the treasurer's report and audit. Motion
passed.

Checks: $400 for Pizza My Heart for Grad Night pizzas, $728.25 for Grad
Night keychains, $500 for the Grad Night hypnotist, up to $700 for Jalisco's
for the staff luncheon, $300 each for 3 scholarships, $40 for the council
luncheon.

Cary Catching moved to approve the outstanding checks. Motion passed.

Scholarships:

Note: This was voted on in the general meeting. $500 was originally budgeted
for the scholarships. We have 3 proposed scholarships for $300. Joe Mason
moved to increase the total for the scholarships for $900. Motion passed.

3 students turned in scholarship applications. They had impressive plans.
They were Sharon Gracey, Jessica Monge, and Humberto Rocha.

Chris Funk called a special booster meeting from all groups. He wants to
have a school-wide fundraiser. We have not had one in 7 years. The last
one was for ASB. He proposed a fundraiser the first weekend in September
before all the other fundraiser activities start. There will be a car raffle,
with 500 tickets sold for $100 each. Outback Steakhouse will cater a rib
feed in the Quad for a cost of $8/person. Tickets will be $15/person. There
will be a silent auction. Each booster club will provide items for the
auction. There will be performers and a welcome-back dance. Parents can
bring students. The money will go to the Lincoln Foundation.
