Having completed expository writing, I am very happy that I took the course. To be perfectly honest I was not looking forward to this course at the beginning of the year. I knew we would be doing a lot of different essays that in the past I had not enjoyed such as picking a an important event in your life and writing about it. I previously have had trouble writing about myself and about my life experiences, but after taking this course this is no longer the case. I think I have made a very large improvement of being able to write about myself. Another major improvement I have made due to this course is I have learned to write in a number of different styles. Previously I had only been able to write a very strait forward essay such as research papers, and I did not know any other techniques in which to express my thoughts. I am very pleased that I am now equipped with a number of different methods of writing for my future. Another major improvement I have made has to do with my essay writing process. Having written a number of long essays I now can write essays faster, longer, and more efficiently than before due to all the practice I had. I feel my best piece of writing this year was my argument essay. I felt after I was completed with it that I was truly able to prove my point and I think if people were to read it they would have been. There is no piece of writing that I am unhappy with because since we had to write a few drafts, and they were edited, I was always pleased with my final copy. Overall I had a very productive and enjoyable time in this expository writing.
