2000 Fire on Ice: Champions of American Figure Skating (A & E)
This is A & E’s feature about one of the most exclusive clubs in the world - America's (at that time) six Olympic Ladies Champions. The program starts with the interest in ladies figure skating generated by Sonja Henie's movies and touring ice shows earlier in the century. It looks at the ladies who are referred to as “America's ice queens”, as well as those who sought the Olympic gold without success. The program includes interviews with Dick Button, Sandra Bezec, Brian Boitano, Scott Hamilton and Doug Wilson. A&E uses rarely seen skating footage throughout the program to explore the skating lives and careers of Tenley Albright, Carol Heiss, Peggy Fleming, Dorothy Hamill, Kristi Yamaguchi, and Tara Lipinski.
