Barriers to understanding evolution
1- Exposure to biology, but to a limited (local) sample.
2- Tendency to draw firm conclusions from that limited sample.
3- Limited knowledge of organismal diversity.
4- Lack of appreciation of geological time and its implications.
5- Limited understanding of molecular biology and ecology.
6- Little understanding of how biological diversity arises.
7- Tendency to rationalize rather than to create and test hypotheses.
