Ford Escort (1996), replace rear window defrost switch
My rear window defrost switch lost it's catch. I purchased a used switch on e-bay. As the picture suggests, the switch is attached to the back of the cluster trim panel. To replace, loosen the trim panel by removing the screws (torx T20). Remove the steering wheel to allow enough play in the panel to remove the screws holding the old switch. Unplug the old switch and plug in the new. Screw in the new switch, replace the trim panel and the steering wheel.
