One of my favorite experiences on the January, 2008 Winter Term trip to Nevada was the opportunity I had to teach desert landscape drawing to the group. As I have yet to discover exactly how I plan to combine my BA in Fine Art with outdoor recreation, this provided me a great experiential learning opportunity to gain insight as to a potential career. It also provided my students the opportunity to, not only create artwork, but to learn how to observe their surrounding environment, using the break down of complex landscape figures into simple shape as the means to relay the surrounding environment.
