The outdoors has enabled me to achieve multitudes of skills and leadership experiences, but one of the most important things it has provided me is a diverse group of friends. Our common love for the outdoors has enabled us to achieve lasting friendships over the years. "Being outside forms tight bonds with people," notes Rhiannon Burk of the Wilderness Adventure Club. The outdoors provided her with "a strong bond of friendships that have lasted throughout college." I know for me, one of the greatest achievements in life is having true friends with whom I share common interests and memories. Being involved in WAC and the outdoors at Davis & Elkins College has opened up my own world to that great achievement!
