This theory started when I first watched the episode "Nullzilla." And when I watched "AndrAIa" again, the theory grew into a life of its own. What happened to the Twin City? And what was the Matrix children's father experimenting?
I believe that early on, long before the Twin City was destroyed, Mrs. Matrix (Dot and Enzo's mother) was nullified in a game. Unable to accept her deletion, Mr. Matrix (their father) begins to frantically search for a way to bring her back. He becomes so involved in his experiments that he looses all track of time. To try and make up for her parent's absences, Dot becomes obsessed with becoming financially dependent and becomes a sort of motherly figure to her younger brother. For his part, Enzo buries his sadness and tries his best to be happy for everyone.
Mr. Matrix soon looses all connection with reality and begins to get sloppier with precautionary measures. One cycle, while Enzo is having lunch with his sister in Kits Sector, Mr. Matrix forgets to double check radiation levels and one thing leads to another and the Twin City disappears in a large explosion.

What proof do I have, might you ask? I do not have photographs to prove this theory of mine, but if you watch the very beginning of "Nullzilla" carefully, you'll see that one of the nulls has the same coloration of the Matrix siblings. Coincidence? I think not. In the same episode, Phong mentions that they lost many Sprites to the Games before Bob came and became the system's protector. Why wouldn't he mention the Matrix sibling's mother? Well, who wants to be reminded of their parent's nullification? You saw how Dot responded to Bob mentioning the Twin City in the episode "AndrAIa." We also learn in "AndrAIa" that the reason there aren't many Sprites in Mainframe is because they were all destroyed when the Twin City was, and that it was because of the Matrix sibling's father's experiments.
If there's any faults in my theory, tough noogies. I like it, so there. J Well, you can tell me what you think in a nice nonflammable letter.
