MIID RO'IK WARSHIP
The most common Yuuzhan Vong capital vessel was the miid ro'ik warship - a ship with a variety of mission profiles, but all directed towards reaping death and destruction onto the infidels.

The miid ro'ik warship was, like all other Yuuzhan Vong vessels, created from yorik coral. The ovoid craft made up of alternating strips of rocky blue-grey coral and hardened, black armoured plates. A number of massive blue-and-red coral arms protruded from the sides and nose of the warship, trailing behind as it glided through the cosmos. These tendrils acted as docking arms for the warship's complement of seventy-two coralskipper starfighters, though the ends also sported deadly plasma cannons.

The Yuuzhan Vong warship carried sixty plasma cannons, some of which were located in deep crags across the vessel's rocky outer hull. The crags were natural formations, and thus the weapons they concealed were difficult to spotuntil it was too late. The miid ro'ik also carried dovin basals, which acted as weapons at times. The creatures latched onto gravitic fields around the warship, propelling it through space. They also created gravitic singularities - miniature black holes, used to intercept incoming fire, strip a starfighter of its shields, or even consume a ship, if the singularity was powerful enough.

miid ro'ik warships featured a third armament: the dread weapon. A serpentine appendage that could be deployed from the warship's belly - stretching for more than three times the length of the warship - the dread weapon was ostensibly used to gather food for the living vessel. However, it was also used to suck up and devour individuals, or even small ships and pieces of infidel equipment. The appendage created a vacuum to consume food - and enemies - though this could be stopped to allow troops on or off the warship. The miid ro'ik was capable of conveying almost three thousand troops and various vehicles.

During conflicts, a Yuuzhan Vong warship could be given any number of assignments. It could act as a transport craft, carrying coralskippers and Yuuzhan Vong into combat; it could blockade planets, using its dovin basals to trap vessels in simulated gravity wells, preventing a hyperspace jump; and it could be deployed for its primary function - as a warship, capable of unleashing a devastating assault on opponents. Some miid ro'ik warships were designated as command vessels, presided over by a powerful Yuuzhan Vong commander, who saw his position as warranting his own flagship.

Though it dealt destruction in combat, the miid ro'ik was somewhat environmentally friendly. The ship recycled the organic material from dying vessels such as Kor Chokk cruisers or even worldships. The material was fed into the miid ro'ik, then converted into fuel for the ship's weapons and internal systems. Some of the material was transformed into armour, becoming a viscous black ooze, which hardened on the hull to reflect laser fire and dampen larger impacts.

The ship class miid ro'ik may have been derived from the words 'Midi' and 'Rock', basically implying the warship is a mid-sized rock
