| SURF FISHING COMPETITION TIMES |
1. The Annual Lions Club Surf Fishing Competition shall be held on Saturday and Sunday. At dates specified. 2. The times of the angling will be from 2:00pm, Saturday until 9:00am, Sunday. 3. Any person found fishing with a registered rod in the defined water between 1:00pm and 2:00pm on Saturday will be disqualified. |
| CONTRAVENTION OF ANY RULE WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION |
1. The organisers or any person acting as a official may at any time: (1) Inspect registered competitors rods, reels, bait and fishing creels (a creel means any bag or box representing a creel) (2) Instruct any competitor to comform to the rules below, and (3) Request that a competitor shall surrender his or her entry tag. 2. All angling will be on Long Beach as defined by the organisers. 3. All fishing shall be from the shore and no boats or craft shall be used to fish from. 4. Two (2) rods per competitor and a maximum of three (3) hooks per rod are permitted (spinners shall be counted as three (3) hooks, ganged hooks as one (1). 5. Rod tags need not be attacted to the rod or rod holder, but please have your tag ready for the steward when you have caught a fish to enable him to tag your fish with the correct number. Winning competitors must present their rod tag before being presented with their prize. 6. Fish eligible for any prize must be landed by the registered rod holder. (Please also refer to rule 12). 7. All regulations regarding the legal size of fish published by the Primary Industries S.A. Fisheries must be strictly adhered to. A compliance officer of the department will be patrolling the beach at various times etc (to end) and will also be present at the weighing of the fish. 8. Upon catching a fish (including stingrays) of legal size, all competitors must present their fish gutted but not gilled to a Steward at the point of capture who will then record the rod tag number and then take the fish, with a copy tag, to the scales for weighing. All stingrays must have barbs removed in addition to gutting and shall become the property of the Kingston Lions Club. 9. The onus is upon the competitor to hail the Steward for pick up of the fish caught. 10. Any fish may win one prize. 11. No junior entrant may be eligible for senior prize. 12. In the event of a junior hooking a large fish, the accompanying adult may assist the junior to land his or her fish. 13. My signature appended to the official entry form and/or any payment to enter the Competition is my acceptance of all the conditions listed in the leaflet that is made available to all contestants. 14. Skate, Toadies and Grey Nurse Sharks are not eligiable for weigh-in-prizes. 15. It may so happen that an angler hooks a fish before 9:00am (This time being the pfficial closing of the competition) but does not actually land the fish till after 9:00am. In such circumstances the fish will be deemed to have been caught during the competition and will be eligible for weigh-in and participation in the prize list. 16. It is the responsibility of all competitors to remove all rubbish, bottles and surplus gear from the beach and camping areas. 17. Radio contact can be made on UHF Channel 20 18. All contestants are asked to make themselves aware of the Coorong National Park bou ndaries and of changing tides other weather conditions at all times. Please read the Indemnity Section. |
Total Prize Pool exceeds $20,000 in value A full list of prizes will be given to each competitor when registering. Please retain your rod tag for lucky rod tag prizes to be drawn at the Lions Park during the prize giving. Includes freshly cooked crayfish. All fire restrictions to be adhered to. Good camping conditions above high water mark. A camping permit will be required in accordance with N.P.W.S. Legislation. All prizes must be won and will be judged by weight on certified scales. Proceeds to charity and Lions Club projects. |
