My thanks to Steve for his time and dedication in providing us with this way of journaling our life's travels. In reading some of my classmates' stories I am continually amazed at the twists and turns (and similarities) of our journeys. Here, then, is a slice of mine.

I moved to Edina, Minnesota, in the winter of 1972, transferring from Cleveland State to continue my studies at the University of Minnesota. Just shy of graduation, Dianne Smith and I were married and we settled in Maple Grove, MN, with son Jason Eric, born in June of 1974. Differing directions and expectations resulted in our marriage's dissolution. In June of 1981, Anneliese Cahoon and I were married.

Ann brought two children, Jason and Jessica, into this ready-made family and shortly, Justin and Johan arrived, setting us two shy of a baseball team. In 1983, a job opportunity saw us relocate from chilly Minnesota to equally chilly Upstate New York; along the shore of Lake Champlain and 2 miles south of Canada. Four years later, my employer in Champlain, NY, consolidated product lines with a sister division in Dayton, Ohio, and it was time to pack the bags again. With kids in tow, we made our home in Piqua, Ohio, 25 miles north of Dayton.

In late 1989, Anneliese was diagnosed with Pancreatic/Liver Cancer and after a year-long struggle with the diseast she passed on to Glory in March of 1991. It is said that when God closes a door, He opens a window and in November 1995, Sandy and I were married after a couple of years of getting to know each other. She brought three (grown-wheew) children into the mix and our baseball team now has room for a relief pitcher.

Sandy and I now find ourselves in an "empty nest". Our youngest and oldest, Johan and Jason (JC), live in Minnesota. Jessica, planning her August wedding, lives in Dayton, Jason (JW) set his tent in New Mexico after a several-year adventure in California. Kylle is tending her family in Columbus, OH. Lacie and Chet live in St. Marys, OH. Each following their own dreams and, oh yes, providing grandchildren. Ten to date; three in the last 2 months and surely more to come as the "Wolf clan" is just beginning to warm up in the bull pen.

My life has certainly had its Joys and Sorrows and God continues to provide blessings along the way. While my career is certainly an important facet of my daily life, I have learned that the stuff of the preceeding paragraphs is more lasting than the lines of computer code written or machines developed. I hope that you, dear reader, have discovered the same perspective.
