Those of us who knew Paul were saddened by his loss. He was such a renaissance man; one who could sit down at the piano and entertain groups of people, a cardio profusionist, a teacher, and most of all, a trusted friend.
Paul served as an usher at my wedding way back in 1971. His last residence was just outside of New Orleans, LA. Although we were separated by many miles we remained best of friends. When you lose such a good friend you are reminded of your own mortality. Life is such a fleeting thing, so make sure you tell the ones that are important to you how much you care about them.
Paul's loyalty as a friend will be always remembered. He indeed was not a fair weather friend. His friendship was the stuff of lifetime friendships.
