High School Activities - Future Nurses of America

Occupation: Library Assistant for First Energy Corp.
Spouse: David F. Haller
Children: Diana (14) and Maria (13)

Diana is 14 and going to Padua. Diana is a dog lover. She plays the piano, clarinet and bass clarient. She likes making home designs. Maria is 13 and one of the top runners in cross-country at St. Charles. She took 7th place at the CYO championship at Notre Dame last fall. She took first for her school. Hershey, our one-year-old Bichon Frise, is our latest addition to our family. He's one bucket of sweetnes. He enjoys steak leftovers from the Outback Steak House.

I'm a Library Assistant for First Energy Library. I've been with CEI/Centerior Energy/First Energy for 28+ years. I've seen way to many people get laid off. All my close friends are gone at work. I have a two-year degree from Tri-CCC in Library Technology. I enjoy what I do.

My husband rolled into my life at Brookpark Skateland in May of 1979. We got married in May of 1980. Carol Jurkiewicz Toth was my Maid of Honor. We've been best of friends after high school. I'm in the Adult Degree Program at Capital University Cleveland Branch, pursuing a B.A. in History. I outgrew Tri-CCC and CSU in a blink of an eye. I volunteer for the fish frys and the summer carnival at church. My home life is sacred to me. Yes, I got a life -- a very fufilling one.

October, 2003 update:

I've graduated from Capital University with a B.A., majoring in History and minoring in Political Science. I completed my course work at the Cleveland Center with a 3.678 grade-point average! My primary instructor was Dr. Jennie B. Watson. She is a political science powerhouse who also teaches at Case and CSU. For my Senior Project, undergraduate thesis, I wrote a 40 plus page paper entitled: Oberlin Abolition: Tripartite of Success. My paper discussed the three factors that made Oberlin a lead in the abolition movement.

As a history major, I'm not in love with the past. History is important to us for its offering of moral contemplation. History is important as it is applied to the present. It's an illuminator of the present (Patrick Henry). I accomplished what I always wanted to do - the degree in History, with the correct side cart of Political Science.
