Information from 1999:
Walt and I have been married for 30 years. We've moved around quite a beit since '69. We lived in Norfolk, VA 'til 1972, while Walt was in the Navy. We had two daughters while living there, Shellie and Sherri. We moved to Garfield Hts. in '72 and had our son, TJ. We left Garfield in '78 and lived in Elyria until '88. Walt was Assistant Director of Maintenance at Marymount and downsizing did away with that position after 23 years! That resulted in our moving to Alpharetta, GA, for a couple of years.
I was working as an RN and Walt used his engineering degree to get another hospital maintenance job there. We got homesick and moved back to Ohio in late '89 and moved to Parma, where we still are! I kept going to school, and working as an RN. Walt is working in maintenance at University Hospital Bedford Medical Center.
I was injured on the job at Parma Hospital in '96 and have been fighting the workers comp battle since. In the meantime, I got my paralegal certification and am a Legal Nurse Consultant. I also work part-time at Bedford Medical Center as a Utilization Review Coordinator. In addition, Walt and I own our own business and are currently involved in an internet project and have partnered with Microsoft, IBM, and Frye Multimedia to develop a virtual mail and on-line family-friendly ISP that will be membership only. It is on target to open September 1, 1999. We are really excited about this project and are having a great time with it. We have over 40 corporations under contract already and business is booming!
Our kids are doing great as well. Shellie is an Administrative Assistant at Eaton Corp. and Sherri is an LPN at University Hospital. TJ works for IMG and recently became engaged to a wonderful young woman, Gen, who works in Marketing at IMG. Shellie and Sherri both have significant others and engagements are anticipated soon. Sherri and TJ are also working in our business project as well.
Last but not least, we recently had to put down our 17-year-old cockapoo, Tippy. He was family, too. I'm sure others of you have had to go through this as well. What a heartbreak. However, we still have 3 other dogs, Billy (mini poodle), Shnookie (half cockapoo and half sheltie), and their daughter Lady (makes her a shockapoo!). They are a riot! And they fill the gap while I wait for grandchildren! Thirty years sure did fly by!!
2000 update: Our daughter Sherri is getting married May 20th to Ken Ledford, and our daughter Shellie is getting married September 8th to Doug Wetzler. It is a busy year and very exciting! Weddings are great and hopefully grandchildren will follow in droves!!!
An update from May 2009:
My e-mail address is [email protected] and I also have a website at www.angelscockapoocorner.com. I raise cockapoo puppies. I'm still an RN, currently laid off but looking. I specialize in MDS for long-term care and am also a Legal Nurse Consultant. My husband Walt and I celebrated our 40 year anniversary in February of 2009. As of June 1st, we will be living in North Ridgeville, Ohio.
All three of our kids are married and have children (yeah!!!). Shellie is married to Doug, and they have two gorgeous girls, Erica, 7 1/2, and Allison, 6. Sherri is married to Kenny and they have two awesome boys, Jacob, 7, and Nicholas, 4. And my youngest, TJ, is married to Gen, and they have a gorgeous daughter, Genevieve, who will be 1 in June, and they are expecting baby number 2 in mid October!! The grandkids are great!! Can't get enough of them. Luckily, they are all still in Ohio and close by. And I love taking pictures of all of them! As for my dogs, I have several and I am looking to specialize in brown and variations of such, for the cockapoo. They are an awesome dog. Make great family pets. I have been doing this for about 5 years now. We just had a litter of 3 from my little gal, Bobbie Boo, who is only 8 pounds. They are adorable! Dad, Bailey, is also only 8 pounds so these will remain small. Our next litter is from Casey and Cookie and should be variations of brown and brown/white mix. She is due in about 8 weeks. Can't wait!! These guys will be more average cockapoo size of 16-18 pounds full grown.
So I will be showing off kids, grandkids, and dog pictures at our reunion. Am really looking forward to it. I hope we get a great turnout.
