Richard's son, Dave Borkowski, was born February 7, 1977. In 1995, he was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 11th round of the free agent draft. After minor league experience with Lakeland, Fayetteville, West Michigan, Jacksonville and Toledo, me moved up to the major leagues in 1999. From 1999 through 2001, he posted a 2-9 record and a 6.93 ERA.
