This is it, the moment this single hit the charts "Kool & The Gang" recalled their debut album and repressed it with this added as the tenth track - or was it more complicated then that.
You remember my only complaint against Kool & The Gang is the fact that this album has (in my opinion) a weak intro and finale, well imagine this hypothetically.
Say for example the original album was quite a bit longer then this (because with out this track this album isn't even thirty minutes and surely even tacky vinyl can hold more then this (apparently it can hold twenty three to twenty six minutes per side or forty minutes per side if a lot of sound quality is sacrificed)) and in order to fit this on the album had to be shortened in some other way - single length tracks. Now I'm sure that they wouldn't all have to be cut - look how short it is now - but to be fair to their work all singles were cut back.
OK this may not be true but it isn't all that hard to imagine a version of this album where the tracks are longer (and not necessarily in the same order), tracks like "Kool's Back Again" and "The Gang's Back Again" are one long track that runs perhaps 4:36 (or longer) called "Kool & The Gang's Back Again" or "Back Again (Kool & The Gang)" or a variation of and the extended tracks give the album the tidy beginning and end. It's probably wrong but as long as you don't know ...

As for the track it's self it's amazing and also the only one with proper lyrics in the form of a chorus (I think the rest is improvised). If you are thinking that actually having vocals that are meant to be heard will make my task easier you are mistaken there is now even more hard to hear banter than there was before
Finally I am not sure at all about the instrumentation - it is probably the least reliable part of the site"
