| Mi-chan reached the end and burst out into the bright space that was beyond the labyrinth. Here the sun reflected off a billowing fog so that it initially blinded her. But as her eyes got used to the lighting, she realized that Neko was not here. Only Tenshi was here in the haze, standing alone, armed with a sword herself. Where have you hidden my sister?! Mi-chan demanded of her, raising her epe challengingly. Tenshi looked unconcerned as she seemed to size Mi-chan up. Koneko is mine now. You hold no claim to her anymore. Mi-chans eyes narrowed at Tenshi. How dare she even suggest such a thing?! You better be able to protect yourself, she warned Tenshi, because Im not planning to hold back when Neko-chans at stake. She gave a quick salute before lunging at Tenshi and was surprised when the non-fencer defended herself ably. As if, just by accident, Tenshi was able to keep Neko locked away for herself. But Mi-chan wouldnt give up so easily and continued going at the blonde. And suddenly, Neko interrupted the fight, walking out of the fog in a white nightgown. Mi-chan held back her next attack as Neko joined Tenshis side and wrapped her arms around Tenshis neck, her vision trained only on her fiance at the moment. Then she turned those violet jewels to Mi-chan. Mi-chan, its okay, she said softly, her eyes pleading for Mi-chan to understand. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Mi-chans eyes opened slowly as the rest of Nekos words entered her brain telepathically, telling her she could wake up. Glad as she was that it was only a dream, she had to admit, it was pretty tame as far as her nightmares went. On the other hand, it wasnt one she was planning to share with Neko, as Nekos worst nightmare ever had had Mi-chan fencing against Tenshi and killing her in the end. You okay? Neko asked quietly. Yeah, it wasnt that bad, Mi-chan answered, quick to allay her fears. Neko smiled sleepily. Im glad. She closed her eyes, and, as if Mi-chan had just sung her a lullaby, Mi-chan could feel Neko slip into dreamland. Mi-chans sleep didnt come so easily now that she was awake. Twice in the last week, her dreams had consisted of searching for Neko. *At least tonight I found her eventually.* But she still couldnt help but worry. Was she going to be haunted forever by the idea of losing Neko? |
