Chapter 1, page 2
Happy with this new discovery, Neko smiled at her sister and gave her a reassuring hug.  Its okay.  Im not dead yet! she told her cheerfully.  More seriously, she said, Im sorry I made you worry, but really, everything is okay.
Then, practically dancing as she went, she ran upstairs to change out of the clothes Tenshi had lent her, and into some of her own.

Mi-chan was not totally satisfied with Nekos assurances that nothing had happened last night.  Neko had a way of lying by telling the truth that Mi-chan still didnt always get, and she seemed just a little too cheerful right now.
     And even if everything
was all right with Neko, that still left the absent psychic link for Mi-chan to worry about.
It had taken her all night to even fall asleep.  It had been too quiet.  She was so used to Neko being in her head, even if it was just her general muted presence when she was asleep, or like a few months ago when Neko had had amnesia and the link wasnt as strong.  But with a total lack of that presence, Mi-chan felt empty.  Finally, she had managed to fall asleep, only to be met by a nightmare of losing Neko altogether.
But when she awoke, Neko was there, as usual.  However, it was an anxious Neko, a Neko that Mi-chan had to find and save or so she imagined.  It had been quite surprising to find Neko downstairs.  A good surprise, but Mi-chan still felt anxious about how Neko still hadnt explained what she was worried about or how their link had disappeared.
*Dammit, Neko-chan, what happened last night?  Where were you?  Whered our link go?*  Mi-chan contemplated running upstairs and demanding that Neko answer these questions, but she knew the effort would be worthless.  Neko would dodge any answer she didnt want to give.
Grumbling to herself, Mi-chan went into the kitchen to fix herself a bowl of cereal.
