| Chapter 1: Morning After The soft light of dawn filtered through Tenoh Tenshis curtains. In the back of her mind, she thought she should be stressed, but it was hard to care right now in the comfort of her warm bed. She wanted to stay in this pseudo-dreamland, filled with the sweet scent of chocolate, and return to her dream where she and Neko had. She sat up. Was that a dream? It had seemed so real at the time. But as exhausted as she had been last night and as perfect as it had been, she couldnt imagine that it was real. And yet she had always heard that you couldnt dream a feeling youve never felt before. So she was having trouble accepting that it was just a dream either. *It had to have been. See, Konekos not here now! Calm down. She wouldnt have let you go that far anyway. It was just a dream.* She was fully awake now, but some aspects of dreamland seemed to linger on. She inhaled the chocolate-scented air and followed its alluring aroma out of her room and into her apartments kitchen. There, clad only in the undershirt that went with the tuxedo she had worn to Tenshis apartment last night, was Tenshis beautiful fiance, Mizuno Neko. Want some breakfast? Neko asked, serving Tenshi a plateful of the chocolate chip pancakes she had been preparing all morning. As so frequently happened, Tenshi found her vision softening around Neko, surrounding her with flowers and sparkles. Somehow Neko had known just what Tenshi needed and suddenly seemed to be able to fulfill her every desire. Koneko, Tenshi whispered, still hardly daring to believe that she wasnt some kind of illusion. Afterall, there had been that one time. But as Tenshi took the plate from Neko, felt its materiality, she had to admit that Neko must indeed be really here. You and I, did we? She broke the question off, trying really hard not to blush. She wasnt shy by any means, but if she and Neko hadnt, she didnt want to admit that she was dreaming of such things. She neednt have worried. Have sex? Neko finished for her, quite innocently, Tenshi thought. She grinned at Tenshi. Hai, I thought it was a dream when I first woke up. Until I realized I was still in your arms. Last night was wonderful, wasnt it? I just had to thank you for it. So eat up! Part of Tenshi had worried that Neko would feel guilty or hate her if they had sex, or at least if they had it before they were married. But the way Neko was beaming at her, Tenshi realized that they both understood that the strength of their love justified any lengths their passion took them. She took a bite of the pancakes. They were fabulous! I knew there was a reason Im marrying you, she said, giving Neko a kiss. Ah, for my pancake recipe. I should have known, Neko answered playfully. No. Tenshi suddenly became serious. Koneko, I love you so much. She put down her fork and took Nekos hands into her own. She felt she needed to find a way to show her appreciation. And right now she didnt want Neko to ever leave her side. Please come with me today. I want to be with you today. Please? Nekos expression held every clue Tenshi would ever need to know that Neko wanted nothing more than to spend the day together too. But both of them knew the answer. Im sorry, Tenshi, but I have to get home soon, Neko replied, her voice betraying how much she regretted saying it. But quickly she hid her longing behind a smile, Im not allowed to see your dress before the wedding, anyway. Tenshi allowed herself a small smile too. Alright, Ill take you home. She took another bite of her pancakes. As soon as I have another one of these. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~* It wasnt until Tenshi dropped her off that Neko finally came off the natural high she had been on since she first woke up in Tenshis arms. Having left Tenshis presence, apprehension began to set in, followed by the slightest hint of guilt. What was she thinking?! She and Tenshi werent married yet! What would everyone say when they found out that the two of them had given in to their lust so soon?! And as she quietly entered the house, she thought of another thing to worry about. Her dad was going to know! Sure, Ryo had worked the entire night at the hospital and wasnt due back for another couple hours, but he was psychic, for crying out loud! How in the heck had she not thought about that when Tenshi had asked about her parents last night?! *Calm down!* she ordered herself. *If you panic like that, hes definitely going to know, whether he picked up on it last night or not. Relax. Tenshi says passion is innocent. So even if his psychic ability.* Mi-chan! Nekos heart leapt into her throat as she realized that she had forgotten to warn Mi-chan that she and Tenshi were going to be fooling around that night. At times, Nekos passion would be so strong that, not only would it be transmitted through her psychic link with her twin sister, Michiru, but it would also infiltrate Mi-chans feelings, and if she was with her boyfriend Jian-wa. And she had planned to be with Jian-wa last night. Neko placed her head in her hands, feeling like she just wanted to be swallowed by the earth. Mi-chan was going to kill her if not for having sex with Tenshi, then certainly for not warning her. Neko-chan! Neko turned with dread, realizing that her twin was right behind her. M- Mi-chan. Her voice was barely above a whisper. She could feel how upset Mi-chan was. Confused too. It just made Neko feel more like she had done something wrong. What happened to you last night? Neko could do nothing but stare dumbly at her sister as she tried to process what could only be an accusation. When she thought about it, she supposed it was her fault. She had initiated the lovemaking. And it would probably seem like a giant transformation of her personality to anyone outside the couple. Certainly, that was what Mi-chan was talking about. Or did Mi-chan think that this was something done to her? That Tenshi had done something to Neko? Neko wasnt quite sure. I- I I mean, one second, you and Tenshi-kun were together which, oh by the way, I felt and then suddenly you disappeared! *Huh?* I couldnt reach you at all, and neither of you were answering your communicators, Neko thought guiltily about what state she and Tenshi might have been in to not even notice the beep of their watches. and I thought. I dont know a yoma attacked and you had died? I didnt know what to think! I mean, our connection totally disappeared! And you didnt come home. Do you have any idea how scary that is? Neko could feel all too well how frantic Mi-chan felt, but at this point she almost didnt care. She was just so relieved that Mi-chan wasnt mad at her. And that somehow Mi-chan had been blocked from feeling the intense emotions Neko was undoubtedly sending her way. *Or was I?* she wondered. Afterall, Mi-chan had long ago inadvertently set up a mind shield to protect Neko from the nightmares she received several times a week. Now of course, she could use it on purpose, but originally it had been a defense mechanism. What if Neko had just accidentally set one up to protect her sister from being overwhelmed by Nekos emotions when making love to Tenshi? It would make sense, wouldnt it? |
