| Most people had given gifts to each other already, but Tenshi still had something else for Neko. She pulled her over to the tree and picked up a present wrapped in star wrapping paper. "Demo you already gave me a present," Neko protested. "Hai, but technically, this isn't from me." Neko unwrapped it and found a jewelry box. She opened the box and inside was a necklace identical to the one she had worn before. "Tenshi." Neko fought hard to sort out her feelings. She was touched that Tenshi had thought of it, but she didn't know how to explain that half of what she liked about the other one was that it was a reminder that she and Hoshi were friends. "There's a note too," Tenshi said quickly. Dear Neko-chan, Tenshi-san called and told me about the dilemma with your necklace. I was sorry to hear that it caused you such problems. Hopefully, this one won't be so troublesome, ne? Sorry I couldn't make it to the party. Maybe I'll see you over winter break, though. Love, Hoshi P.S. Tenshi-san seems very nice. In spite of everything, I hope she makes you happy. Neko's hands shook as she read the letter. "You talked to Hoshi-chan?" "Hai. She was very helpful, and she overnighted that gift to me," she explained. "Oh, Tenshi!" Neko dropped the letter and hugged her girlfriend, trying to figure out how to tell her that that was almost, but not quite, as wonderful a gift as the engagement. "Come on, Koneko!" Tenshi was surprised that Neko had been that happy about something so simple. "Was that really such a good present?" "Hai," Neko answered, not releasing her. "Oh my," Tenshi chuckled nervously. "Two in one night? How am I going to make you as happy next year then?" Neko giggled. "You'll manage some way, I'm sure," she answered before giving Tenshi a deep, passionate kiss. Half a dozen people turned and cheered at them. Neko released Tenshi finally, blushing from the attention of everyone around them. "Look up," she whispered before she ran over to her sister to show off what Tenshi had worked so hard to get her. Tenshi did as she asked and noticed the mistletoe hanging above her, but it wasn't enough to convince her cheeks to lighten themselves. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Puroko was curious about why Tenshi was so red. And she had a question for her, so she ran over to her as Neko left. "Ne, Tenshi, did Neko-san embarrass you?" "Iie, Kiddo. Ne, you like Koneko, right?" "Hai! She's my bestest friend, 'cept for Kono-kun. He's cool too." "I'm glad. What if she could be your sister? Would you like that?" Puroko seemed to think about it. "That'd be awesome! But wouldn't Michiru-san be sad if Neko-san wasn't her sister anymore." Tenshi laughed. "She can be both, silly." "Honto?! Sugoi!" Good. She was eventually going to have Puroko be a bridesmaid, but if she told her now, it'd get back to Haruka before they got a chance to tell her, so she waited. "So did you want to tell me something?" "Oh, hai! Serenity-sama was telling me about the Christmas Star, and how they get their greatest wish granted for Christmas, but she said Neo-Queen Serenity hadn't done anything for anyone that she knew of. Do you know who the Christmas Star is, Tenshi?" Tenshi smiled as she thought of the recent events and how they had worked out. "Actually, Kiddo. I'm pretty sure it's me!" |
