Part 1, page 2
"I know stuff.  I know the square root of 169 is 13.  I know the Japanese language.  I know," she focused her gaze on Mi-chan, "I know I trust you."
Mi-chan laughed embarrassedly.  "Okay, okay, I get the picture."  She decided to change the subject and tell Neko about the Sailor Senshi, since it might be good to know.  "Well, let's see, Neo-Queen Serenity used to be Sailor Moon, the champion of justice."
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Tenshi stopped at the priestess Senken's temple.  She was the sage who had given her the cure for Neko's illness.  She also seemed to have a bit of psychic power.  Tenshi hoped she could help them now.
     "Ne, Senken-sama?"
"Ah, Tenoh-san!  How is your friend?"  She took one look at Tenshi and said, "Ah, not that good, huh?"
"Mi-chan called and said that Koneko's memory has been erased."
"But she's not sick," Senken pointed out, trying to keep Tenshi optimistic.  "Hmm, it seems that the potion not only cleansed her body of the disease, but also her mind."
"Not just of the disease.  Of everything!" Tenshi said angrily.  "Mi-chan said it was like she was born today.  She doesn't even remember her twin sister!"
"And you want me to change that."  Senken considered it for a minute.  "I cannot, but you can.  It will not be easy.  You would risk your life for her?"
As if there was any question.  Besides they'd gone over that yesterday.  "Absolutely!  I couldn't live without her!"
"Yes, I understand.  It might require that.  Keep that in mind when I tell you what you must bring to me."
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Mi-chan and Neko had spent most of the morning going over the Moon Kingdom and their current Senshi status.
"So I help defend the Earth?  Wow!  You sure you're not just making this up to take advantage of my gullible state?" Neko asked, not really serious.
"It's true.  And you'll rule the planet of Eryx someday."  Despite her teasing, Neko looked a little overwhelmed by the information.  Mi-chan thought maybe it was time for a break.  "You know, would you like anything to drink?"
"Uh, sure.  Onegai, Michiru-chan, would you choose something for me?" Neko requested.  She wouldn't know what to get herself.
Mi-chan left her in the family room and ran into the kitchen.  She decided on water for both of them.  She was glad she suggested this, she was actually very thirsty.  She poured a couple of glasses of water and added some ice to Neko's.  She liked that.
She took a big gulp of her water as the doorbell rang.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Neko opened the door, and stared at the bishonen before her, her heart racing.
     *
Ano, there's a really hot guy at the door.  Tall, blond, blue eyes.  What do I do?*
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Mi-chan almost spit out the drink of water she had just taken from Neko's statement and mental picture she had inadvertently sent.  Instead she swallowed quickly, with the unfortunate result of having to spend the next minute coughing from trying to inhale her drink.  *
That's Tenshi-kun.  Uh, just say hi for now, I'll be right there* she thought to Neko for the moment.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
"Konnichi wa, Tenshi-kun!" Neko said cheerfully to the guy.
Tenshi's eyes widened with surprise.  "Konnichi wa.  Do you remember me?"
Neko shook her head.  "Sorry, that's just what Michiru-chan told me to say.  You know I have no memory?"
He nodded.  His turquoise eyes were filled with concern, and Neko couldn't help feeling like she should alleviate that worry.  "Well, other than that I'm fine.  Michiru-chan said I was sick before, so this is actually a step up, I guess."  She smiled at him encouragingly, but he didn't seem all that reassured.  "Don't worry about me, Tenshi-kun."
"I'm so sorry," he said softly.  Neko thought it was silly for him to say it so much like he was responsible.  But it was kind of endearing too.  "Do you mind if I try something?" he asked.
     "Go ahead," she answered trustingly.
He put his hand up to her forehead.  She assumed that maybe he was checking her temperature.
"I'm not sick anymore, really."  He sighed and removed it, still looking concerned for her well-being.  That was so sweet.  "Ne, we must be really close," she predicted, from his anxious expression.  She wondered if he was her boyfriend.  She
hoped he was her boyfriend.  "Are we?" she asked eagerly.
     "We-"
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
"Sorry about that," Mi-chan said as she entered the room.  Instantly, she saw how Neko could have been
misguided.  Tenshi was looking awfully bishonen-like, hiding her figure well under her denim jacket and loose-fitting jeans.  Even her hair had been styled in a slightly more boyish manner, which really meant that she hadn't bothered to style it at all, and that's just how it had fallen.  Actually, she probably hadn't even thought about her hair or her clothes since she found out that Neko was sick.  Mi-chan wondered when the last time she had slept had been.
"Hi, Tenshi-kun.  How are you doing?"  Having received a look from her, clearly saying 'How do you think I'm doing?', she continued, "Okay, well, Neko-chan, could you come here for a second?"
Neko did as she requested, and Mi-chan handed her the ice water as she whispered, "Neko-chan, just so you know, Tenshi-kun's not a boy.  He, uh, she's a girl, okay?"  *Eight months later and I'm still confused!* she chastised herself.
Not that it wouldn't have been fun to mess with her sister's mind.  And not that Neko didn't deserve it after letting Mi-chan believe Tenshi was a boy for two weeks, but that was a different Neko.  This Neko knew nothing of that event and trusted Mi-chan wholeheartedly to help her out.  It wouldn't be fair to shatter her confidence right away by letting her think Tenshi was a boy and later finding out otherwise.
Neko glanced at Tenshi.  "Of course she is," she said slowly, looking a little sad and embarrassed.  "Is she my friend?  Or is she yours?"
"She's."  That was a different matter.  Mi-chan wasn't sure who should tell Neko that she and Tenshi were engaged.  She obviously had no idea she was gay, though at least she was attracted to him, uh, her.  "She's on the pole vault team with you.  You guys are very close."
Neko nodded.  "I thought we must be.  She seems so worried about me."
"Yeah.  Why don't I bring in some cookies for us, and you can talk to her, okay?"
