Mizuno Neko was poisoned with a disease that infected her soul by a past enemy, Amethyst. This disease took effect about 2 months later. It also could be spread directly from Neko to other Sailor Senshi, thus infecting her mother, Ami, and twin sister, Mi-chan. Neko's healer girlfriend, Tenshi, was not allowed to come heal her, since she could catch the bug too, but Amethyst's old lover, Jasper, came to give it a try. Though he managed to heal Mi-chan and Ami, he could not heal Neko. However, Tenshi saw a priestess who claimed she had a potion that could cleanse Neko's soul, though there were possible side effects. Mi-chan decided that it was worth the risk to heal her twin who was rapidly approaching death, and gave her the cure.
