It was all she could do to keep from killing Jasper there, but she needed him to tell her where Neko was before she did that.
�Mi-chan!� Jian-wa had tried and failed to keep up with her, but had just now caught up. �Mi-chan, at least, let him��
She sent him a glare that could freeze blood, and he stopped obediently as she admonished him. �This scum does not deserve to live! He�s kidnapped Neko and has about ten seconds to tell me where she is, or I start breaking bones.� She turned her fiery gaze to Jasper. �Do you understand me?�
�Kidnapped�. Huh?�
�One,� she started. �Two�. Three.�
His eyes grew panicked, and he looked at Jian-wa wildly. �What is she talking about?!�
�Four.�
�What happened to Neko-sama?!�
�Five.� She had already decided that she wasn�t going to fall for any of his �she�s my princess� stuff this time.
�Chang-san!�
�Neko-chan�s been taken by someone,� Jian-wa interjected quickly. �If you know anything��
�Six.�
�I don�t!� cried Jasper. �I swear to you, I don�t. I wouldn�t��
�Seven.� Mi-chan hadn�t relaxed her deadlock grip on Jasper in the least. All the cries in the world wouldn�t convince her Jasper was innocent.
Neither would Jian-wa. �Mi-chan, what if you�re wrong? Hold on, just a moment��
�Eight.� She sent him a dirty look and then focused back on Jasper, glaring daggers into his pleading eyes. �Nine.�
But she never got to ten. She briefly felt Jian-wa�s fingers at her neck before she blacked out.
