Chapter 1, page 3
There was something she was holding back.  It worried Mi-chan, but she didn't know how to press it.  She could tell Neko really did mean what she said about Tenshi.  Besides, Neko almost never said anything that she didn't believe was true.  But that didn't mean she felt she had to tell everything she knew at all times.  For someone who never lied, she was pretty good at lies of omission.  The trick was figuring out what she was omitting.  Unfortunately, at the moment, Mi-chan couldn't think of what it could be.  Certainly, Neko had come right out and answered her question.  She didn't know what other topic Neko could be dancing around.
"So you were out with Jian-kun earlier?" Neko asked, changing the subject.
"Hai.  Dinner and a movie.  Nothing too fancy.  But we had a good time."
"I'm glad," Neko said happily.  Jian-wa had been her best friend before he started dating Mi-chan.  And while he had temporarily fallen from grace, he had gradually won back her friendship again.  Since the point that he had indisputably proven himself trustworthy, Neko had taken every opportunity to tell Mi-chan how pleased she was that they were together.  Mi-chan suspected that this was possibly the result of some post-engagement euphoria that Neko wanted to share with her twin.
"Don't get all starry-eyed on me," she warned her twin.  "Now, don't get me wrong, I love him, but we're not about to get engaged anytime soon."
"I know," Neko told her cheerily.  "But you two are still kawaii!"

Tenshi lay in bed, staring at the ceiling.  She wished Neko could be here next to her.  She really loved her so much that her heart hurt at the thought of not being near her.  They had broken up for a short time, and since then she wanted to spend every moment with her.
She thought about their tryst at the beach and smiled longingly.  She had never in her wildest dreams thought that Neko would be willing to take their relationship so far so quickly.  They had continued to get more and more intimate, but each time Neko surprised her.  Tenshi didn't mind letting Neko dominate that aspect of their relationship, in fact she preferred it that way.  The couple of times when Neko had initiated a sensual moment and Tenshi had ended up taking control, she had taken less chances than Neko had been recently, because she didn't want to risk going farther than Neko was ready for.  But Neko correctly assumed that Tenshi was just as ready for any step she was ready for, so when she was in control, they both got a little bolder.  And the more confident they got around each other, the more confident it was likely they'd continue to get around each other.  And Tenshi thought that was a beautiful thing.
But not as beautiful as her fiance was.  Neko was the single most wonderful thing in Tenshi's life, and Tenshi couldn't wait until the day they both truly belonged to each other.
She hoped her moms wouldn't forbid their engagement.  She wouldn't know what to do about that.  She loved her family dearly, but she thought she probably loved Neko more than anything else.
And to lose that love again would be unbearable.
