| Part 7 - Broken Wings On the edge of consciousness, Kat could feel warmth returning to her body. She also felt excruciating pain. Every inch of her body was screaming at her to allow herself to fall into a pain-free unconsciousness, but she knew she could never give up that easily. She tried to force her eyes open, but they refused to obey. She knew that Angel oh no, now it was Night Angel was no longer next to her. She could hear her fighting with Jian. And then she sensed her twin come in. More pain hit her, but she was relieved because Sailor Electra would be able to help Night Angel. And then she realized what it probably looked like from her perspective. Angel was now Night Angel and was attacking a Jian-wa that hadnt visibly changed since Electra had last seen him. They had known Jian for awhile now, but Mitch had just met Angel this evening and that was assuming that Electra even recognized her. There was no way that she could possibly know that it was Jian that she should be worried about. Kat forced her eyes to open in time to see Sailor Electra prepare an attack. She tried to yell out, but she couldnt quite manage it yet. ~*~*~*~*~*~ As had happened only once before, Sailor Electra felt an invisible force stop her from acting. She stopped mid-attack as she felt her sisters objections. Confused, she looked over to see Kat attempting to get up. Kat looked at the boys and Electra got the distinct sense that it was Jian that she should attack, not the ninja guy. *Huh? Jian?* Electra didnt understand. Why would Jian be a bad guy? She looked back at the fight and realized that Jian did seem to be winning, but shouldnt that be good? Jian was her boyfriend and Kats best friend. Why would he hurt them? And she didnt know the ninja person (who she assumed was Angel). Then she noticed the rose in the ground. *Kinda like a Knight* she observed. Suddenly a thought occurred to her. *Oh, wait! Is Jian possessed like Shorty was that one time?* Kat nodded. Well, in that case She didnt want to hurt Jian, but she knew that she couldnt let him beat the Knight (not to mention her and Kat), so she decided to attempt to attack him. Please, please, dont kill him, she whispered and then: Electra Dazzling Bolts! ~*~*~*~*~*~ Night Angel gasped for air after taking a blow to her gut. She was fighting a losing battle and she knew it, but she wouldnt give up because as soon as she did, Jian-wa would finish her and Kat off. She couldnt let that happen. Suddenly she was surprised to hear someone yell behind her. Around Jian-wa flashed a series of lightning bolts. Night Angel turned around to see the person she knew must be Sailor Electra. ~*~*~*~*~*~ Jian-wa glared at Sailor Electra. Where had she come from? Jian! What the heck is going on here? Before she could possibly fathom what he was going to do, he threw an energy sphere at her and one at Night Angel for good measure. ~*~*~*~*~*~ At first, Sailor Electra wondered why she was seeing stars. But as her vision returned to normal, she realized it was only one star and that it was really a throwing star that was on the ground next to her. She didnt know how it had gotten there, but she reached out and grabbed it, in case it would come in handy. She tried to get up, but was finding it very difficult. She knew that one more hit like that and shed be unconscious at best. Two more would surely kill her. She stood up shakily, although she didnt know what shed do if he attacked her again, and looked around her. The Knight was in pretty bad shape, but she was on her feet and helping Kat up. Jian was staring at her with hatred. But Jian, why? You dont understand! All the children of the Sailor Scouts must die! ~*~*~*~*~*~ The general laughed in delight. It was so easy! All she had to do was keep encouraging Sapphires son and he would take care of the new Scouts for her. After that, he didnt matter. Finding the orphaned son of Sapphire and Prizma in China had been a challenge, but everything after that had been easy. She had been pumping him full of lies about the Sailor Scouts since he was six and he had believed every one. She had promised him that if he were able to kill all the children of the Sailor Scouts, including Princess Rini, he would receive the power that his parents had lost when they rejected Wiseman or died. She had promised him family honor, which had never actually really been lost. She had made sure that he was transferred to Tokyo a year ago, hearing a rumor that all the children of the Scouts, with the exception of Rini, would be there soon. It was to his credit that he was able to remain friends with Kat Mizuno after he had figured out that she was Amy Mizunos daughter. He was a great actor. Not that he hadnt ever questioned his mission though. She thought of all the times he had voiced his concern that Kat had seemed so nice. And later his concerns about her twin as well. But he had come through for her in the end. He was minutes away from finishing off the Mizuno twins and Angel Tenoh. His monsters were very close to beating the younger Mizuno kids and the Starlight as well. As Jian-wa hadnt been programmed to kill the Starlight, that was just an added bonus. Soon the new Scouts would be defeated and if Jian was still around, he might even kill the princess for her. This was so easy! ~*~*~*~*~*~ Sailor Electra processed what Jian said while receiving random feelings and thoughts from Kat. By the time he started to create another ball of energy, she had figured out that he had to kill all of them, or else his efforts would be for nothing. Well, she wouldnt let him hurt her family or Princess Rini! And there was only one way to stop him for sure. *I wont lose!* She looked at Kat and thought *Kat, Im so, so sorry!* Kat screamed, Mitch, no! and tried to run over to her. At the same time Jian released his energy sphere. But they were both too late. Sailor Electra took the throwing star and slit her left wrist, an instant before the black energy sphere knocked her unconscious. ~*~*~*~*~*~ Kat fell to the ground, weak from pain and grief. A second later she got back up because she knew she had to get to Mitch. Nothing else mattered. ~*~*~*~*~*~ Jian-wa was confused and angry. What had she done?! All his plans and fighting would be for nothing if she died in this condition. Why would she do that?! He thought about everything he had been told about the Sailor Scouts, but this didnt compute with any of it. Youre so naive, its obvious that she just wanted to ruin your plans. Kill the rest of them now! No, that didnt make sense. It just didnt make sense for her to sacrifice herself. Why would anyone in such an evil family be willing to sacrifice themselves for anyone? ~*~*~*~*~*~ |
