"Michiru-mama? What do you think about this for Koneko-chan?"
Kaiou Michiru looked at the small box her eldest daughter was holding in front of her and smiled. "It's very pretty, Tenshi. I'm sure Neko-chan will like it."
Tenoh Haruka, Tenshi's other okaa-san looked in the box. "Nani?! You're giving her a ring? You've only been dating for a month!"
"It's her first birthday since we started dating. I wanted to make my present special."
"Demo�"
"I wanted to get her jewelry, and she always wears the same necklace and earrings. That doesn't leave much else. And this ring was just so pretty. I couldn't help it." Tenshi smiled at the idea of Neko opening the ring. The pretty blue stone was the same color as the blue heart Neko always wore on her necklace. And the white gold worked well with the color of that stone. It was the perfect ring for her Koneko-chan.
"I-"
"I think that Neko-chan will love the ring, Tenshi," Michiru interrupted Haruka. Haruka nodded.
"Arigatou." Tenshi ran upstairs to wrap it.
Haruka looked at Michiru. "Isn't it early for her to be buying jewelry?"
Michiru giggled. "There's no harm. It's not like she's proposing. It's just a birthday present."
"I didn't get you jewelry for your first birthday after we met."
"I know."
Oops. Haruka realized that this was not the best way to settle this disagreement. She knew that Michiru wished that she were more romantic at times.
"In that way she's more like you. It's your fault she's such a romantic."
"You think?"
Haruka nodded and laughed. "At this rate, they'll be married before the year's end."
"Ara! In that case, that'd be your fault."
Haruka looked at her wife in confusion.
"Well, you're the one that had them blessed." Haruka still was puzzled. Michiru smiled. "When you lost Tenshi and Neko-chan when Gebriel-chan was being born."
"Oh, well, that wasn't totally my fault," Haruka said slowly as she remembered the event.
