It was to Haruka's great misfortune that the instant she left Day Care Center B (where she was looking to see if Neko had returned) and turned left, she ran into Michiru.
Her wife, not the little one.
    "Michiru!"
"Oh, are you still looking for the twins?"
"Uh, just Neko-chan.  I left Michiru-chan with the others."  Haruka did not want to tell Michiru that Tenshi was lost.
"Poor Haruka!  Do you need help?" Michiru teased.
"Uh, no, I'm just fine."  Haruka was trying to get out of there.  She couldn't stand lying to Michiru, even if it was just a lie of omission.  "I'll find th- her eventually."  She blew Michiru a kiss as she turned the corner quickly, eager to escape.
Michiru looked at Kimahou, "Well, that was odd."  Kimahou just giggled.

    "Haruka-san!"
Serenity called to Haruka from the other end of the hall.
Haruka looked at her and put her finger her to her lips.  She peeked back around the corner she had just come from and sighed in relief.  Michiru was gone.  She looked back at Serenity.  "I need to get back to Endymion-sama.  Now."
"Well, let's go."  Serenity started to go in the direction Haruka had come from. Haruka grabbed her arm.  "Not that way!"  She dragged Serenity in the other direction.

"Iie, iie, iie, iie, iie!" Neko pounded on the door hysterically.
"Stop it!" Tenshi pleaded with her, as she grabbed one of Neko's arms.  It was kinda scary and wasn't helping Tenshi stay calm.
"Go away!" Neko pushed her away.
Tenshi's lip quivered.  "You- you'll hurt yourself," she whispered.  Neko, for some reason Tenshi didn't understand, already seemed to be struggling for breath, and Tenshi didn't know what would happen if she kept pounding on the door.
"I don't want help from a dumb boy," Neko wheezed, her eyes filling up with tears again.  But she stopped.
Tenshi blinked.  Although she wore boy's clothes and short hair, she'd never been mistaken for a boy before.  She was almost flattered, though Neko obviously didn't mean it as a compliment.  She thought boys were cool and it seemed they always got to do the best stuff.  But  "I- I'm not a boy," she clarified.
Neko turned her teary eyes to her.  "'Course you are."
"Iie, but that'd be neat."  Now that Neko had stopped pounding on the door, Tenshi was less scared.  She trusted her papa and mama to find them.
"Iie." Neko's eyes flashed through her tears.  "Boys are dumb, and mean, and awful, and and they fight, and  and I don't like them."  She hugged Luna more tightly.
    "Boys are
not dumb and mean!"
Neko was determined to prove that they were.  "Today I beat Hiyao-kun to the line to get lunch, 'cuz I was faster, and he pushed me down so he could get it first.  And later Akima-kun stole my cookie.
Two boys in one day," she said emphasizing her point.  But then Neko's eyes suddenly turned a tad less frantic.  "Demo Mi-chan made Akima give it back.  She always protects me from the mean boys."  She smiled serenely at the thought.
"Demo, if Mi-chan fights like the boys-"
"Shut up!  I hate you!"  Neko burst into tears again.  Tenshi didn't understand.  Mi-chan was her protector.  She was supposed to come save Neko.  How dare Tenshi insult her!  She sat down in the corner to cry alone.
Tenshi really didn't understand.  She also began to cry.  She had never been told to shut up before.  Furthermore, the situation wasn't getting better and she was beginning to worry that they would never be found.
