| Part 1: Sunday - Crystal Crystal looked at the Sailor Senshi she was facing in disgust. How could she possibly be losing to these amateurs?! It wasn't as if they were particularly powerful, just lucky or something. She glared at the younger girl who had just hit her with a fire attack - Sailor Phoenix. She hated fire. She hated her. She hated them all. All she had wanted was to attack the twins - before they had a chance to transform. But that stupid Knight, Night Angel, had come to their rescue before she could finish them off. How he had managed to deflect her attack on Sailor Eryx, the twin who was now in blue and pink, was inconceivable to her. There was no reason why the attack hadn't worked. Knights were notoriously less powerful than the Sailor Senshi were, and those Senshi were already weakened. Some other force must have protected them. Then Sailor Phoenix and the other Knight, Mahoki Dracona showed up to help. And the others hadn't given up either. "Celestial Force!" Sailor Eryx cried. Crystal dodged the attack with a flip to the side. She glared at all of them. "Don't think for a second that you won," she hissed at them before disappearing in a puff of white smoke. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~* "Stupid Senshi," Crystal whined as she crossed the mansion's grounds. "Don't worry about it. We'll get them." "Oh, Carnelian!" Crystal wheeled around to find her older sister leaning against the tall cherry tree in the yard. Carnelian played the part of the big sister perfectly. Unlike Amethyst, she always seemed to make Crystal feel immature. But Crystal knew she could also count on her in a pinch. Carnelian looked at her sister with eyes that were almost sympathetic. "Did they hurt you?" "Not really. They just didn't let me win," Crystal pouted. "Poor thing. You must have been devastated!" Carnelian's voice dripped with mock-concern. "Don't patronize me! I was just surprised by their power. I think they must have some spell or something protecting them." Crystal wrung her hands together. "It's the only explanation for why Amethyst and I weren't able to beat them." "Hmmm." Carnelian had to admit that it was rare for any of the team to be beaten. Her twin sister, Amethyst had battled with the Senshi months ago when Team Eclipse, the remaining five members of the Army Eclipse, was first looking at the Moon Kingdom. The last solar system they had attacked had fallen so quickly, but something about this one made the team falter. Perhaps there was something to Crystal's whining. "Perhaps you should look into that then. It's not like you don't have the power." Crystal suddenly smiled. "That's true." That was just like Carnelian - to point out the obvious that she had missed. "Thanks, sis." She ran off to her room. Carnelian laughed. It was so easy to please Crystal. She really was such a simple person; at times Carnelian had trouble believing they were even related. Oh, well, Carnelian had other things to do. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~* *Now, let's see.* Crystal looked into the prism that sat on her dresser. She often used it to look in on distant places. If she concentrated, she could also pick up on psychic vibrations with it. The twin Senshi were the most obvious choice for her to look in on. They were the most recognizable and were the ones fortune had smiled upon and allowed to live. She concentrated on them. She had picked up their vibrations during the fight and was fairly certain that she could find them without any problems. Sure enough, they appeared on her prism with minimal effort on her part. *That's great. Now to focus on the psychic energy and spiritual forces surrounding them.* Mizuno Neko lay across her bed, studying her math book almost as intently as her twin, Michiru, was studying the fencing magazine before her. Neko was encompassed in an aura of yellow, which connected across the room to Mi-chan's red aura with a purple thread. *Great, they have a psychic link! That tells me nothing.* The colors of their auras simply appeared to correspond to what they were reading about right now. Crystal sighed. This was getting her nowhere. *Of course* she realized, *since they're unprotected at the moment, I could always just slip on down there and kill them now.* She quickly rejected the idea. Only a moron would think to attack anyone in that house alone. Besides the four children, who were all Sailor Senshi or Knights, Mizuno Ami and Urawa Ryo lived in that house. They were even more powerful than the children. It would be senseless to just barge right in there without a plan or at least the whole team. Instead she focused on the Knight who had saved them. His vibrations were more difficult to follow. And when she did finally find him, she almost dismissed the result as a miscalculation. "A girl?" Well it did explain why she had trouble finding him. Tenoh Tenshi bit her lip as she stared at the computer screen, attempting to come up with a brilliant conclusion to her 10-page literary analysis on The Tale of Genji. She was interrupted as her little sister, Puroko, entered her room, crying. "I skinned my elbow," she sobbed. "Oh, Kiddo," Tenshi said sympathetically, as she took her sister's arm in her hand. "How'd you do that?" "I wasn't doin' anything bad. I just was playin', and I tripped and fell. Tenshi, it stings. Make it stop, onegai." "Shh, it's ok." Tenshi took the elbow and gave it a gentle kiss. "There, you want a band-aid?" The young girl sniffed and wiped her eyes as she shook her head. The pain had apparently disappeared with Tenshi's care. Crystal shook her head in disbelief. Tenshi's aura had changed from yellow to a light pink to a light green. While she hadn't detected any "greater force" protecting her either, Crystal now knew that Tenshi had the ability to heal. With a simple kiss, the wound had disappeared, which explained the green aura - Tenshi was a healer. Instantly, Crystal wanted to know more about her. She started to concentrate more intently on Tenshi's outer aura, the one that would tell what color dominated Tenshi's personality, when she was cut off. "Whatcha doin'?" |
