The Crystal Tokyo Romance Soundtrack |
Some of these songs are really perfect, but at the time that I made this soundtrack, I never considered the possibility of writing future stories (It's totally Heather's fault. I never would've written Revenge & Redemption if I didn't get ideas from her). |
Train - Drops of Jupiter |
Opening theme - I chose this song not only because the story starts with Neko feeling like she's been sort of abandoned and like she's missing out by not finding that special someone, but also because it mentions different cosmic bodies (Milky Way, Jupiter, Venus). Plus Neko gets swept off her feet by the "wind" (or @ least the daughter of the wind), & falls for a shooting star. |
| Savage Garden - Crash & Burn |
Neko's Lament & Meeting Tenshi - "If you jump, I'll break your fall." I thought this line was good for pole vault. Tenshi shows right away that she's ready to mend Neko's heart (& then some) no matter what the younger girl is going through. |
Billy Joel - And So It Goes |
Neko & Tenshi's Uncertainty - "So I would choose to be with you, that's if the choice were mine to make...." Neither girl knows what the other feels. They are each willing to trust their hearts to the other, but not sure how the other will take it. (In a side note, Mi-chan is going through her own pre-dance struggles that this song works very well for too) |
| 98 Degrees/Stevie Wonder - True to Your Heart |
Admitting it's a Date - Neko finally makes the first move (how come it's always her?) and lets Tenshi know that it's a date and she knows it. |
| Gloria Estefan - I Just Want to Be Happy |
Theme for Neko's & Mi-chan's Hopes - Neko & Mi-chan try to make their dreams come true as they start their dates. |
KCi & Jojo - All My Life |
Dance Song # 1 - A good romantic song |
| Sailor Moon Stars (Three Lights) - Todokanu Omoi: My Friend's Love |
Dance Song # 2 - Thought this was a good song to be playing at a dance in the Sailor Moon-verse. It's upbeat & different from "All My Life." Later, it's mentioned that it's Neko's favorite song at the time. |
| Megumi Ogata and Yoko Takahashi - Lost Paradise |
Neko and Tenshi's Dance Theme - Not only do I think the voices are great for my characters ;-) but I just love the sound & lyrics for the song. And I think it'd be perfect to dance to. Later, it's mentioned that because this is the first song Neko & Tenshi dance too, Neko adopts it as her new favorite song. |
| Blessed Union of Souls - Brother, My Brother |
Jian-wa's Betrayal - Neko doesn't understand why Jian-wa has attacked her & Tenshi. From friend to foe in a matter of seconds. |
| Enigma - Gravity of Love |
Eryx's Theme - Love. Gravity. What more can I say? |
| Tom Petty - I Won't Back Down |
Eryx vs. Jian-wa - Eryx fights Jian-wa even though fighting a friend goes against everything in her heart. Tenshi also transforms into Night Angel, allowing her/him to help defend Eryx. |
| Duncan Shiek - Barely Breathing |
Eryx's Plea - Eryx can't imagine that Jian-wa has truly betrayed her. With barely the energy to stand, she pleads for him to fight the demon within, but there is no literal demon. Finally, he hits her with an attack that knocks her unconscious. |
| Faith Hill - This Kiss |
Night Angel's Kiss - Night Angel brings Neko back over the edge of consciousness. |
| Lou Christie - Lightning Striking Again |
Electra's Theme - Flirting. Lightning. Need I say more? |
| Seal - Prayer for the Dying |
Mi-chan's Sacrifice - Mi-chan kills herself to save her family. Heather prefers "Who Wants to Live Forever?" but she can save that for her story. This is more as if Mi-chan were talking to Neko anyway. |
| Midnight Sons - If Only Tears Could Bring You Back |
Neko Mourns Mi-chan - I think this is the best song to express what's going on in this story at that point. As Neko mourns her sister, she thinks of a way to possibly bring her back. It hits upon every emotion I can imagine Neko feeling at the realization that she might lose her twin forever. It even mentions one last dance, which is cool. |
| Sarah McLauchlan - Full of Grace |
Tenshi's Love Theme - I like the chorus line "I know I can love you much better than this." I think it falls well with what Tenshi is feeling as she tries to explain what she feels to Neko, and failing, expresses it with a kiss. |
| Queen - We Are the Champions |
Victory - Yes, well, when this was the only story, this was a perfect song to end up with. Afterall, it all ended well enough, didn't it? |
| Sailor Moon - Katsuki Masako - Fate Is So Beautiful |
Closing Theme - Who knew how appropriate this was going to be after I wrote (by the end) fourteen stories? "Anata ga ireba" pretty much sums up Neko & Tenshi's relationship. |
