area, trying to ignore the distractions around him, but all he could find was that both Neko-chan and Tenshi-san were hiding something.
He knew he had seen this guy before.  He just couldn't quite place him.

Neko wondered what Chibi was doing.  He seemed to be concentrating very hard on something.  Oh well, it probably wasn't important.
Now that Jian-kun wasn't around making trouble (silly boy), Neko wanted to relax and have fun.  She grabbed Mi-chan for some girl talk.
"How's your date with Jian-kun going?"
"Really good!  He took me to that nice restaurant on the corner of 'Manga' and 'Otaku' streets."
"Honto?!  Wow, that's expensive."  Neko giggled, "We went to the Yacht Club."
"Sonna!  And they let you in?!"
"Apparently, they either didn't recognize me, or they just didn't care because I came in on a respectable 'gentleman's' arm."
"Wow, next time I want to go there, I'll have to try that.  Think Jian-kun will pass as a 'respectable gentleman?'"  They giggled.  "So where have you been hiding that bishonen?"
"Nowhere.  We just met the other day."
"Masaka, you're kidding!  You two sure seem closer than that."  Neko turned red, but Mi-chan was only teasing.  "Far be it from me to criticize you though.  Besides, you guys are so kawaii together."
At that moment, Isaac Jones came over and started to talk to Mi-chan, who introduced him to Neko and sent her messages about how she really didn't want to talk to him at the moment.  Neko was going to rescue her, but a second later Jian-kun returned with drinks.  He had brought back one for each of the twins and had managed to balance one for himself as well.
"Here you go, Mi-chan."  He handed her one.
"And one for Neko-chan."  He took the opportunity to grab Neko's arm and pull her away from her sister.
     "Jian-kun, what are you doing?"
"I thought you weren't interested in dating?"
     "Huh?
     "You said."

Jian-kun, I'm very sorry but I'm not really interested in hooking up with any guys at this time.  Gomen nasai, but I just don't want to date anyone right now.  But I'd still love to be friends with you.  Onegai?
     "Oh.  I wasn't then.  Now I am."
     He still looked upset.
"Jian-kun."  She took his hand in hers.  "We are best friends.  My sister is your date for the evening," she reminded him.  And then giving him the benefit of the doubt, "It's really sweet of you to be worried about me, but I'm a big girl.  You of all people should know that I can handle myself if trouble comes.  And it won't.  Ok?"  She grinned at him hopefully.
"Gomen, Neko-chan.  I wasn't really jealous, I was just upset because I thought maybe in your attempt to reject me gently, you might not have been entirely truthful."  Jian-kun trailed off.  Neko assumed it was because she probably looked a little ticked off.
*Oh, Jian-kun, you should have taken the way out I offered you.* Being accused of lying was worse than if Jian-kun had just been a little jealous.

Tenshi had watched Neko-chan and Jian-kun talking.  Neko-chan didn't look very happy.  In fact, she looked like she was trying very hard to stay calm.  Suddenly, something Jian-kun had said had made her really upset.  She stormed off, putting her untouched drink down on the nearest table and came over to Tenshi.
    "N- Neko-chan, daijoubu ka?"
"Iie.  Guys are dumb!  Come on."
Tenshi didn't know what to say, but she let Neko-chan drag her to a different part of room.  She considered saying something, but she wasn't sure if Neko-chan meant guys, as in those who were actually male; or if she meant guys, as in those who were here tonight in tuxes.  She hadn't told Neko-chan, but she often felt like she should be a guy.  She didn't know what that meant really, but it was different from her Haruka-papa, who just dressed as a guy because she liked to and could get away with it, and because it occasionally allowed her to participate in things usually reserved for "men only."
But one look at Neko-chan when she had finally stopped told Tenshi that Neko-chan hadn't meant her.
    "Neko-chan?"
"It's ok, he just upset me."
It was not ok!  Neko-chan was trying hard not to cry, and Tenshi would do anything to make her smile instead.  Tenshi briefly glared over at Jian-kun, but quickly centered her attention back on Neko-chan.  "Oh, Koneko-chan," she said as a single tear fell.  She caught it at the cheek and suavely wiped it away, wishing that it would erase Neko-chan's sadness with it.
Neko-chan seemed to recover.  She wiped her eyes and asked quietly, "Do I look horrible now?"
    "You could never look horrible."
"But my face must be all red."
"I keep telling you.  Red looks great on you."  Finally, she had gotten a smile.

After thinking about it for awhile, Chibi had finally figured out where he had seen Tenshi-san before.  Or at least why he looked familiar.  *Naturally, he must be Haruka-sama and Michiru-sama's son.* The question of how they had managed to get a Y-chromosome in the mix apparently didn't occur to him.
The mystery seemingly solved, he concentrated on the next lucky female to hit on.

Despite Tenshi's objections to the contrary, Neko was certain that she had ruined her make-up.  She decided it would be worth it to make a trip to the washroom and check it out.  Tenshi offered to escort her there, but she didn't really want her date to see her being all girly.  Most girls' dates wouldn't get to see them checking their make-up, and since it was obvious that Tenshi was not going to actually offer constructive criticism, there was
