The check came about 5 minutes later. Neko took the money out of her small purse (holding not much else than that - lipstick and her communicator watch were the only other contents) and got ready to pay.
"I'll get it," Tenshi offered.
"No, I'm making up for the car."
"Yeah, but I just said that to get you on the date. I wouldn't have brought you to such an expensive place if I had thought that you were actually going to pay."
"Then you should've just asked me out. I promised and I'm paying! And that's that!"
Even after buying the dress, she almost had had enough to cover it herself. She wondered if her dad knew that part of his "money for emergencies" (occasionally, known as the "Bank of Dad") was going to pay for dinner. Probably.
